Looks like way more MRAAM/BVRAAMs than the current 6, but quality is so bad we cant tell if its real or what it is exactly…
can it ?
helis are surprisingly hard to lock on hovering heli imo. Seems like the giant blades are just ignored
Fox 3 seekers are a bit more advanced than that. First off, filtering out is usually done to avoid false returns on a scanning radar. The thing is, you don’t just “filter out” a target you are already locked onto. Also, the return given by the notching target is at a different range compared to the ground behind it.
When it comes to chaff, one simple algorithm comparing the vector to the new returns created by a chaff drop would be enough to entirely disregard them, especially in a notch.
Fox3s in the game have a tendency to miss even the mig15s on the test drive at times, which really shouldn’t be the case
That being said, it’s a balancing tool, so it doesn’t bother me that much
Rafale for example does not have to worry at 10km.^^
Typhoon is rcs optimized from the front so in the notch it wouldn’t make that much of a difference
And I wouldn’t want gaijin to make another radar overhaul before they fixed the bugs of the last one
Su30 doesn’t have an aesa radar not even the Indian one, the radar you are talking about was revealed not to long ago so it will probably take some time until it enters service
Yeah, so it makes you slightly harder to detect in the headon giving you a few more seconds to beat the CAPTOR-M into submission and then when you notch you have 320 standard calibre chaff instead 320 micro chaff to notch with.
Well… Chaff should have been fixed a year ago.
Then PESA.
It certainly isnt an M-Scan
Rafale is worse in pure flight performance
Not quite either because it has multiple tranceivers, so it is in between AESA and PESA.
Iirc they are called Hybrid ESA radars
Interesting.
Well, in the FGR4 they are always enemy :P
but never had an issue with F-18s and F-15s thankfully.
EF is better in a fair 1v1 but in an actual game the rafale has better high speed pull and high speed energy retention which is very strong for notching or going cold at very close range.
and then has the best HOBS IR and ARH missiles in game, so doesnt even necessarily need to pull fully onto a targets tail to get a shot off like the Typhoon would need to do with the Aim-120 and Aim-9M
For now, since Eurofighter can’t have it’s flagship weapons
Yeah… I do respect that ASRAAM would be too strong, it will likely be the meta weapon, but it is also a real shame we have such handicap
Can ASRAAM pull in a close range dogfight though?
Perhaps at speeds that are suicidal to begin with in the current gameplay.
Even without missiles Rafale will pull 15g or more while Eurofighter will pull 10g to 12g.
By the time Rafale starts lacking thrust compared to Eurofighter it should be able to make some shots connect.
Yes and no. It is perfectly capable of doing the extreme HOBS that things like IRIS-T can do, but its biggest strength is also its biggest weakness. Its extremely fast off the rails. This means it has a larger turning radius than missiles like IRIS-T which are very slow off the rails. (Think of it like turning radius of a car, one traveling really fast and the other very slow. ) So whilst it will be able to do HOBS, it will need a little more thought, but they should really be used more like R-27ETs as an almost psuedo BVR missile
It has a higher Str than the rafale at every speed
From what i’ve seen of late. Rafale will pull 20+Gs without ripping and the Typhoon falls apart if you try to do more than about 12. When it should be the Rafale rips at 16G and the Typhoon at 18G or something like that
and is still underperforming in STR :D
