Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

hehe, Yeah, I see that a lot too, but just wasnt my first spawn, I had RTB’ed and it doesnt reset unless you change loadouts. But thank you though

Though I do want to get better at flying without it on at times. I rather struggle in aircraft without it like the Hunter and the Harriers are apparently real beasts since the buffs if you fly them without Damping

I hit 2:1 before nerf on all 3 Eurofighters. After the nerf I only played the British Eurofighter and am below 2:1 on it now.
On Rafale and SU-30 I’m on a 3:1. On J-11B I gained a 2:1 while stock grinding…

Rafale as well as all Flankers and some others do missile jousting better than Eurofighter.

I think it’s time for Aim120C 🙏🙏

Maybe, but not quite yet, Aim-120B still does fine.

What is probably needed is buffing Aim-120Bs. Now that MICA have a unique seeker, I wonder if the AMRAAMs seeker can be buffed too. Let alone the flight performance of the missile.

After that, Id still rather see the Typhoons buffed focused towards

  • FM
  • Radar
  • A2G weapons (Especially Brimstone related)
  • DASS (notably BOL but also some RWR improvements)

That would have happened already though. The plaster approach would be the 120C as we are not going to receive the ASRAAM anytime…

Ok have you maybe considered that if they add the 120C they’ll add other missiles too, and the 120C might become a Derby compared to them, there’s not that many comparable missiles, the r77m and that’s pretty much it.

No, I would guess any that have been submitted either were just suggestions that havent been implemented yet, been denied for whatever reason or simply not submitted because it was assuemd they wouldnt be actioned.

I seirously doubt AMRAAM was as easy to defeat as they are currently

iirc. AAM-4 and PL-12 are already considered Aim-120C5 equivalents IRL and were nerfed to Aim-120B performance.

But for example outstanding bug reports for the AIm-120 that I can find

That’s what I mean the question is do Gaijin want to implement the Typhoons advanced features or are they happy with it just being fast?

120C can be rolled out to the other NATO members and makes it an easy upgrade.
And no I also believe all ARHM are far too lenient. You should not reliably be able to notch and chaff ARHM missiles from 3km away…But you can.

From all the reports being denied about those missiles i think gaijin will just keep them like that, unless they have internal sources but are waiting for Aim120C to action them.

Perhaps, I think a few at the very least should be looked at.

But I am curious though if the Aim-120B’s seeker differs all that much from what we have in gmae or whether everything else just uses the Aim-120B seeker

While some sources considered PL-12 as AIM-120C-5 equivalents, my understanding is that it was AAM-4B that was speculated to be AIM-120C-5 equivalent (in terms of range), not the original AAM-4.

PL-12 definitely feels (when you face it) that it pulls quicker and harder off the rail, 120s feel pedestrian.

BVR is so easy to defeat them you have to close within 20km and even then you are at far more risk of a MICA-EM or R-77-1. No one is flying high and even the jets that are just defend them by turning cold (Which does help the team but doesn’t help you) This is incredibly controversial but it isn’t in the top 3 of MRAAMs in top tier meta right now.
F-15Es are no longer getting kills either, it is all Su-30SM and Rafales with a sprinkling of Typhoon/F/A-18Cs

1: MICA EM
2: R-77-1
3: PL-12/R-77

Could say the same about fox2 too. aim9m is mid.

9M low G hurts it a lot :(

Will be so much more usable if it had its IRL lock ranges.

But its a missile not designed for dogfighting, it is extremely annoying

Everyone argues though that the 120 and Typhoon are the best…
9M even from above on an F-15 in full burner flared it…That’s an R-73 or Magic 2 he’s dead

9Ms aren’t necessarily easier to defeat than an R-73 or Magic II, but need a different tactic. Know what you are doing, 1 flare defeat whilst sat on full reheat is entirely possible to do.

But when they dont. They work rather well

The biggest issue in terms of balance, is the total lack of HOBS on the 9M. For an aircraft that is meant to be “the best dogfighter” its a rather major handicap

Though do wish they had their longer lock ranges, turn them into a short to medium range weapon instead of exclusively a shrot range weapon and the “push ahead” functionality they lack would help with those 1 flare defeats
