I’ll say they look both about the same. Went ahead and check the weight they are about the same as well.
Go to a weapons expo where they have an EFT simulator and the striker II and get all the footage they allow you to get xD
And get them on tape saying the EFT simulator is representative of the irl flight performance of the jet so I can bug report the underperforming acceleration :p
I think words to that effect are said in one of the simulator videos.
I’ll try to rewatch and find if they mention that then, cuz if so, we could be in for a rather significant buff to the EFT’s acceleration
Unless we get slapped by another “marketing lie”
The “about the same weight” isn’t as insignificant as you think, even saving a few grams here and there is a challenge.
I say about the same weight because every source I’ve seen says “about”
Striker II is listed about 2 kg. F-35 about 4.5 lbs. they are both using rough numbers.
I’d like to see gaijin genuinely and unironically argue that they train pilots on an overperforming simulator as if that wouldn’t hugely compromise just about everything in their training.
In one of demo videos the test pilot says it’s in declassified mode if I recall. So you don’t see everything that’s possible. It would be difficult to argue the performance shown is 1:1 with the production aircraft.
If anything, that suggests the real performance would be higher than shown in the simulator and therefore the simulator could be used for minimum performance. So if in game, something isnt equal to the simulator, then it can be used to buff it up to that minimum. But if another source suggests its better, then go with the other source with the simulator as a supporting source
I think you’ve kind of ran with the idea its reduced performance but it could also just be total nonsense. It doesn’t need to be even based on the real thing, it can be entirely made up for operating in its declassified mode. And there is literally no way to confirm if its reduced performance from the real thing or just completely made up.
Ah, thats fair enough then. Though it would be better than nothing for some things
Like it would be good to see what the devs opinion would be for getting acceleration buffed with this:
Id hazard a guess that the devs opinion is that the Typhoon is a garbage aircraft with anemic engines and that its a miracle it even takes off at this point /s
Can get rid of the “/s” its pretty clear Gaijin 100% believes that is the case with how much is restricted from it
it is currently the best aircraft in the game flight performance wise, why dose it need to be better?
Since when has that ever prevented any other nation from getting their IRL performance? F-16s dominated for well over a year and still got buffs.
Also, its got a barely usable radar, massively nerfed A2G loadout, missing a ton of features. Ontop of the FM underperforming notably.
Currently the best jet in the game right now is the Rafale. So if anything, the Rafale should get 0 buffs or fixes by that logic.
first of all the f16 was not the best plane in the game by nearly as much of a margin, infact the mig29 was able to beat the block 15 and it was a close fight between it and the block 10. secondly the time frame that the f16c WAS dominant in air rb was between sept 19 and dec 14th of 2023. Also i don’t think buffing whatever the current best plane happens is ever going to be a good thing as it just continues the unhealthy cycle of powercreep, i was against the f16 buffs at the time too.
also the whole “barely usable radar” claim is laughable, its radar is pretty much equal to everything that isnt the rafale/su30/su34. just because it is not the best radar in the game dose not make it unusable
finally, i agree with your last point, the rafale should not be receiving any buffs and should infact be nerfed in its current state.
F-15E, Su-30SM and rafale are all perfectly capable of fighting a Typhoon. The gap is no larger than the difference between F-16, Mig-29 or Gripen was before.
Its the second weakest radar at top tier currently. Far weaker than the F-18, F-15, F-16, Gripen, etc. The only radar its beats is the Su-27 and only barely.
It literally cannot see targets 90% of the time meaning TWS is litereally unusable quite often and the normal tactic in ARB is to just rely on HMD or ACM to hard lock the radar. Not an option if you play ASB
Given the fact the CAPTOR-M is a heavily upgraded version of the Blue Vixen radar, which has none of the current issues the CAPTOR-M has in game. it is without a shadow of a doubt, broken. You may not believe that is the case, But that does not change the fact. It is underperforming considerably when compared to any other standard mechanical scan radar.
It is not unusable because its not the “meta” radar. its unusable because it is litereally unusable as a radar most of the time
Finally the CAPTOR-M IS NOT a “standard” mechanical scan radar and has features and capabilities more commonly associated with PESA/AESA scan radars such as Priority track that allows for up to 20 air or ground targets to be continiously updated anywhere within the radars FoV (and not just the current scan area). There is a reason why CAPTOR-M is considered hte best m-scan radar in the world that outperformed many early PESA and AESA radars and why the EuroConsortium didnt replace the CAPTOR-M when it code have done with AESA way back in 2008
“F-15E, Su-30SM and rafale are all perfectly capable of fighting a Typhoon” in air rb sure, but i was referring to a guns only dogfight, if we want to talk about air rb the mig29 was far better than the f16 at the time.
also yeah and i saw the gripen performance gap as an issue too, i am not in favor of one plane being significantly better than all others in terms of flight performance
and again about the radar, i have no clue what you are talking about. it is not nearly as bad as you seem to think it is
And that in my opinion is totally irrelevant to the game.
By that logic. The Tornado F3 should get its ASRAAMs and Aim-120C5s because it cant win a gunfight against anything between 12.0 and 14.0
Well, then ask others. @Dontkev and @MythicPi have both experienced similar issues with the radar
There literally isnt a single official gamemode in WT in which the EFT is present and “Gu7ns only dogfights” are the primary metric of an aircrafts performance, this is such a bad argument its not even funny.
It REALLY is. Its easily the worst 14.0 radar in-game, and its in the same performance ballpark is the universally agreed upon “worst” top tier radar, the NOO1. Most jets at 13.0 have better radars than the current CAPTOR-M.
