Thats actually the funniest thing ive heard about the rafale situation.
I mean, major FM buffs, radar buffs, MAWS buffs, MICA buffs, everyone else mostly got cucked with this update, particularly the chinese. The J-11B wouldve been a strong jet like, 4 patches ago.
I guess the Su-30SM aint bad, but its radar is worse than the other 2 ESA’s for checks notes reasons, and the Su-30SM mostly just traded flight performance for ordinance quantity/quality, neither of which put it in the same league as the Rafale overall atm. Its not surprising the chinese would start calling it a 6th generation fighter, seeing as the Rafale is the only jet getting consistent preferential treatment while the Chinese spend another update being mediocre.

The J-11B is an F-15C competitor yet somehow Gaijin decided to only add it now and believe it is 14.0 material, yet even they realized it wasn’t the right call and lowered it to 13.7. What is more infuriating is that there are jets that ARE 14.0 material for China that can very well be added (J-11BG, J-16, J-10B) but for some reason Gaijin decide to give something that should’ve been in the game in Seek & Destroy.
Not to mention this J-11B is completely half-baked, the track range of J-11B’s radar is limited to 60km while it has an 200km search range mode, which is pretty funny as even N001 has a longer track range than it. Not to mention that the predecessor radar (1492) on the J-8F has aperture mode while J-11B’s 1493 only has vertical scan, 1492 has 19km ACM mode while 1493 is stuck with 10km. Only in War Thunder is the successor radar worse than the preceding one lol.
Japan is missing the F-2A still, hopefully it comes and China gets something in the June update I guess.

I’ll be grabbing the J-11B last this update, I was excited for it at first, but it doesnt seem to bring anything of interest atm, and I’m in no rush to use another terrible and unfinished radar at top tier.
Japan getting stiffed the F-2A cuz “an AESA would be too strong ingame rn” but France getting the Rafale F3R with its AESA is comedy gold ngl.

I fly the British Eurofighter and the radar is hilariously bad, I ended up using PD HDN or HMD instead of TWS because it was so unreliable.

Is there any way to remove the warnings flashing? situational awareness is made really difficult when my LWR and MWS warnings flash instead of just… appearing so I can see them.
I do love the cope posts about PIRATE, when at the IR channel for the F3R’s IRST was removed to make room for the AESA’s extra electronics, only returning on the F4 lmao.

Best game recently was using Aim9s in IRST mode. All The 120s missed by miles and left me with the 2 9Ms.
Now that’s a comedy. They’ve literally converted it into grippen.
Gripen is nicer to fly it lacks the speed but the Radar seems better.
And Darters can farm cocky Su-27/30 pilots.
At the moment though I’m retiring the Typhoon from BVR.
MAWS is also crap why have a protection system that does nothing…tried to chaff a Chinese IR missile…great
I’ve said it before but it appears gaijin didn’t allow the radar MAW to actually identify incoming missiles. It instead just correlates it with RWR like any other MAW which makes it wrong a lot more than it should be.
They make out it’s some find of “advanced” feature and it offers nothing in game. Only time it ever works is helicopters.
I’'m fed up of systems being added to game that are so poorly modelled and achieve nothing.

There’s a few secondary sources in english, Can’t find anything primary in english though.
Basically the IRST had the IR channel removed in exchange for a better TV sensor (OSF-IT) in the F3O4T standard (one before the F3R standard), IRST returns with the F4.
Tbf might be bad translations, but Ive seen talk about MICA-IR and the new TGP the F3R got being used as IRST around the same time frame, which would be an indication to a kernel of truth.
Basically the reason for me not writing a bug report, I don’t have the french skills to investigate further, nor do I feel the need to get something nerfed for petty reasons, I just honestly found it amusing that we have Rafale-bros trying to own the eurobros with their own goal wide open. Ive got little to no skin in this argument, with the EF radar issues Ive been working on italian ground and french air lmao.

Don’t know if it’s a bug or intentional but losing both your canards seems to make you lose control of your entire aircraft. Rest of the aircraft had some light damage. Both canards got knocked off and it wouldn’t respond to any inputs
It wouldn’t be petty, feel free if you have any informations but as far as i get, each time, f3r + no irst was mentionned in the rafale thread there were explanations that it was false.
