Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Further testing. the drag at high alpha is genuinely absurd.

Twenty eight THOUSAND kilograms of force at 500kph at 27 degrees. AoA limiter on. No wonder the eurofighter is suddenly falling out of the sky 2-3 turns in.

If only they had a means to test this offline before they added it to the live server…

I’d like to additionally point out that following The Drag Equation, the drag coefficient for the wing under these conditions is just barely under 6.6. For reference, a cube at mach 1.5 has a drag coefficient of 1.7.

Check the replay in sensor view.

You will see which target your missile was locked onto when it fired, and if it immediately locked onto the friendly, which can and does happen, or if the target notched and the missile switched targets mid flight.

As others have said, datalink is only used for long range shots. At 18km or so, the missile will switch to its own radar. It doesn’t know the difference between allies and enemies.

After Mach 1, Eurofighter turns like a tornado. Why Gaijin???

does it lose speed btw? if not - fine
tbh you still can use it as BVR fighter… with easy multipath and notching… so no BVR…

It loses massive amounts of speed and then cannot regain any energy if you go above a certain AOA.

It appears that once you reach a critical AOA you lose the majority of the thrust output of the engines, and this can only be corrected by reducing your AOA below the critical angle.

However, you will lose so much airspeed so fast, that you basically have to stop turning at all to correct it.

sounds funny

when you turn it doesnt lose a lot of speed at around mach .9- 1.1
but if you go 1.3 and turn it just dumps the speed very quickly

and also no more than 10G if you’re unlucky

And full controls in a turn at mach 1 doesn’t do anything anymore. It no longer pulls extra

So will anyone report anything about the new radar issues or about the flight model that got nerfed maybe too much?
I can’t because I don’t have any proof but I did a game in air sim and my radar on TWS mode couldn’t see any aircraft going opposite from me and about the maneuvrability looks changed a bit and maybe it’s worse
But the speed at high altitude it’s improved at least
I play the F-2000A, should be the same as FGR.4

pretty sure everything that could be reported about the FM has been reported and gaijins response was just nerfing the plane regardless of outstanding accepted bug reports that it was underperforming prior to said nerf.

I wouldnt bother thinking the plane will ever be modelled right anymore, this is just how gaijin wants it to be for some reason.

Wont be suprised if that was like “nah it cant turn better than su30”

It already couldn’t. Fighting an Su-30 was suicide on first dev let alone now.

Cant outurn the Su-33

If the tornado is any hint, we’ll get it in 3 years… maybe.

Is there a way to confirm TWS+ is active in game on the eurofighter
I see that it is listed on the radar modes in the hanger, but in game I only have regular TWS.

Brimstones appear to loft higher now… not that it means particularly much because they still arrive long after you’ve overflown the target, making them worse than just dropping a PW4.

So I wanted to test out how considereable the buff to the Rafales acceleration is (at least at high alt), seeing as Statshark has not yet updated, so here are the numbers:

Brakes off to 10km alt M1.0:
Rafale C F3R: 1min22sec
EF-2000: 1min18sec
F-15E: 1min17sec

M1.0 to M2.0 at 10km alt:
Rafale C F3R: 1min25sec
EF-2000: 1min45sec
F-15E: 1min20sec

Numbers are for 20min fuel (constant) with 6 fox 3’s and 2 fox 2’s, plus a TGP on both jets.

Rafale is marginally slower to 10km alt in a Mach climb than both, but is SIGNIFICANTLY faster from M1.0 to M2.0 at 10km than the EFT, and barely slower than the F-15E.

Now here's the catch:

My Rafale isn’t even spaded! Its actually missing 4 performance mods that would further improve its climb rate/acceleration!

There is now effectively nothing the EFT or F-15E do better than the Rafale except top speed when it comes to air to air combat. The Rafale is officially the quickest jet in-game. So yeah, have fun with that info I guess.
