Just a heads up for the “already reported”. I did the same thing for the Su-27 a while ago and the cap was “removed”, except that it was not, which is why I had to file the bug I linked in my previous post (alongside another one).

When the first bug was “fixed”, rangeMax was changed from 30000 to 100000, which would have you think that it can now lock up to 100 km, but that is not the case, bacause in the fsms section of the IRST still only searches/tracks only up to 30 km.

Unless the devs are made aware of this, they will only alter the transceiver properties, like range, range1, and rangeMax, which will not affect the previous 30 km cap, and you guys will have to go through the same wait I did.

Here is that section for the Captor-M with Pirate:

and here is the IRST capped in the game, which you can see by it being greyed out past 30 km (for some reason it is giving me errors when I try to upload the screenshots, so here is a link to them)

A caveat: I am not using datamines to report a bug, the bug is already there/reported and you can see it on screenshots, or you can also just try it out yourself (have a buddy fly the F-14 in AF away from you and watch the IRST break lock at 30 km). I am merely using the code to show where the problem lies.

PS: Can we please have a window of a couple of days of feedback after a bug fix to report problems to avoid cases like this? I had to bash my head after waiting 4 months for a fix, because there are no avenues for feedback and I have to refile bug reports and wait again.

This I knew, I was asking if I was interpreting the other changes correctly. They appear to be a reduction in afterburner thrust and increase in mil power

No clue on that, it seems so, but will wait till Gszabi has (translated) it xD

        • multiplier linear coefficient from 0.05 to 0.4
          • induced drag multiplier decrease will now peak at M0.65 instead of M0.6 to a greater degree and increase more afterwards, resulting in less induced drag until around M0.9 resulting in higher overall instantaneous and sustained turn (Comparison)

      • multiplier linear coefficient from 0.25 to -0.01
      • multiplier limit from 10.0 to 0.5
        • zero-lift drag coefficient will now peak at a lower point and decrease after the curve, enabling higher top speeds (Comparison)
    • thrust adjustments
      • at sea level
        • general decrease in afterburning thrust ranging from 300-2600 kgf from 600 km/h TAS (Comparison)

Aircraft DM changes:

  • Eurofighter [DEU], F-2000A, Typhoon F.G.R. Mk. 4:
    • crew model: USA 1977-1991 → USA 1985-2011 JHMCS
    • the wings and tail didn’t break off where they were intended to (so more or less remained), fixed

    Statcard and X-Ray changes:
  • Eurofighter [DEU], F-2000A, Typhoon F.G.R. Mk. 4: right wing fuel tank is now marked as self-sealing in X-Ray
    BR changes:
  • Maximum BR: 13.7 → 14.0
  • Air: F-15E, Eurofighter [DEU], Typhoon F.G.R. Mk. 4, F-2000A, Rafale C (F3R), F-15I Ra’am: 13.7 → 14.0

    - 500 lbs Paveway IV: “PW IV” → “GBU”
    - 500 lbs GBU-48(V)1/B: “GBU48” → “GBU”
    - 500 lbs GBU-54(V)1/B: “GBU54” → “GBU”

Yesterday I noticed that when flying at low speed and at a high angle of attack, the canards drop down, outside the turn. Is this intended or is this an animation glitch?

Engine oil, pilot, and ammo are all added to the empty weight in game, not included in it.

And the 11,000 kg figure for Eurofighter is Basic Mass Empty, which IIRC includes hydraulic oil and unusable fuel.

that is exactly what i thought so it should be 11.000 can someone report this ?

At the time it was 11.700 kg on the dev server it was reported that it should be instead 11.000 kg with linked sources which all said 11.000 kg. But the devs in their almighty wisdom decided to set it to 11.300 kg with no apparent basis for that decision and closed the report as “solved”.

It is readily apparent why

It obviously wasnt readily apparent for everyone, why don’t you just say instead of making people guess

Intended I’d guess, they do the same irl, its to countersteer and stabilise the turn. Sort of like drifting

we tried ig

If you implicate to point at your comment about oil, pilot, ammo, etc. I have news for you:

Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE Treaty) of November 1990:
Empty weight means the weight of a vehicle excluding the weight of ammunition, fuel, oil and lubricants, removable reactive armour, spare parts, tools and accessories, removable snorkelling equipment, crew and their personal equipment.

How is this related to game’s “EmptyMass” code line?

This issue is brought up about the empty weight of every fighter coming to the game for the last 3 years. Welcome to history on repeat.

So… Exactly what I said?

Oil and lubricants includes the hydraulic systems and engine oils.

is it going to get double racked pylons for fox 3s or not ?

and one random question the tornado F3 or the F3 late have top 3 radar in the game for locking and finding targets with ez, and amazing SRC speed, is the Captor better at doing that ? or do we have to wait for the Captor E

Probably not but we’ll have to wait and see.

As for radar, In theory yes, based upon what I’ve read about what it can do, I would assume it would have a scan speed similar to fox hunter or the PESA radar on the Su-34. On the dev it was a placeholder, so very interested to see the changes they make. It should be a lot better than fox hunter in theory

The issue is the lack of concrete sources.

Captor-M is widely considered the best mechanical radar in the world and equal to many PESA radars

You seem to be implying that the empty weight in game being 300 kg too high is because of it including the:

Engine oil, hydraulic fluid, pilot, ammo, etc

That is not a valid explanation because Engine oil, pilot, and ammo all have their own masses in game and are added the empty mass, not included in it.
