It’ll probably have been trials for the Saudis, Oman or another partner. The UK has never had dumb 2000lb Mk.84s in our own inventory, though most aircraft we have are cleared to use them from NATO stocks.
All our 2000lb bombs were BLU-109 equivalents, to be used with (E)PW-III guidance kits. But as you say they aren’t really around any more in the RAF either, and the capability is covered by a Paveway IV variant, and Storm Shadow on Typhoon.
None the less, Typhoons have been cleared to drop 2000lb bombs in various guises. Oman and Spain use Mk.84s with a Paveway II guidance kit (GBU-10)

I think I can make a fairly strong case for the UK (and by extension Germany / Italy) getting the TMC based on what I’ve seen in various documents.

i dont see why we wouldnt be able to get them either, we could atleast a TMC on each wing to bring the total missile count to 10 and be on par with future SU27/30 variants
I can imagine the issues with having 10 Meteors slung under wings, fighting a (insert generic Russian plane) with R-77-1s.

what would they have? The only thing with comparable range is the R-33 (SARH) and R-37 (ARH) which are both anti AWACS missiles and inevitably as a result, most likely suck at taking out fighter sized targets.

As for whether the R37M can kill fighter targets? Gaijin could respond by referring directly to a previous example of the Russian Air Force shooting down a Ukrainian SU27 with an R37M
