Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Thanks for it being declassified!

hm yes unaware targets. you could also hit those with an arrow but ok

Novator

For the export version (RVV-BD), the overload of the affected target is stated to be 8G, the lower limit of the affected zone is 15 meters…
According to official data, the R-37M missile shot down MiG-29 /Su-24/Su-27 several helicopters and UAVs. the type of UAV was not named…
1.R-33S(ARH)…

😂😂

The same is true for the R-27, which pulls 35G’s.
-edit- not off topic, discussion regarding the overload of missiles based on target G loading

As an example, if G loading must be at least 3x target overload to hit the target it can be no less than 3x target overload. This does not preclude it from being more than 3x target overload. The same goes for Meteor and any other ordnance.

Maybe I misunderstood his reply or something but it seemed the connotations were that people applied target overload requirements and the “3x minimum” rule to justify claims of poor maneuvering performance for other long range missiles. This just isn’t true, and out to certain ranges these ordnances should have similar maneuvering performance to other fox-3’s and show parity with the Meteor.

The question about that is, at what ranges does the Meteor catch up and outperform them? Is it possible to close the distance with the Meteor slingers and give them a run for their money or are you too far into the MAR at that point?

Thoughts? @Gunjob I know you have the sources to aid discussion on this.

For x_Shini_:

Spoiler

Oh, and @x_Shini a polite “please let’s not drag this into a discussion about Russian missile capability” or something would be nice. The last time I watched you guys tear your own thread apart I had not commented for nearly 150 comments and you guys were STILL derailing your own thread to insert jabs and nonsense. So let’s not pretend I’m the issue here.

Got a speed , range/time graph.

and an unlabelled NEZ;

Assuming the NEZ is either 120B or 120C5 for the “Current MRAAM”.

I’d love to say, but I don’t want my message to be hidden again.

something something probably devolved into Russian missile chatter.

Oh well.

mmmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmmm

Very nice.
Would it not be C-5, seeing as that’s probably the “current” MRAAM on Typhoon being used by UK/Germany before Meteor?

German Typhoons operate the 120B still iirc. But when it comes to NEZ 120B and 120C5 aren’t that much different. Its only at range where the 120C5 makes the most improvement.
