Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 3)

Pretty sure Mach 1.2-1.3 is enough at tree top level

Yeah the issue is not the speed as such its the level of management it requires you can easilly overpseed the jet so you fly without burner and then lose your energy while evading threats.

The Grippen on the otherhand has that perfect blend of manouverability and speed. It can stay on burner the whole time 😅

do you not know how to use the lower afterburner settings?

Definetly in need of some decent A2G weapons on the Typhoon.

You cant engage moving ITOs because by the time you get in range to use the Spice-250s, you are already dead.

You cant use Brimstones because of the same reason and the Tpods no longer lock onto a target until you are within 10km anyway

Same goes for Paveway IVs, and they do bugger all damage vs the buildings for some reason.

Spice-250s are okay vs bases, but the seeker takes over even at 30km and insists on targeting the buildings and not the AA you actually have in the middle of your cross hairs, meaning that some AAs are just immune because of shoddy code.

Definetly need some long range GNSS weapon for the bases, and then Mode-3 Brimstones for the convoys.

How the hell are you wingripping?
I haven’t managed to do that yet when playing CAS

I have to keep off afterburner because I use up too much fuel lmfao

But that’s not a photo of a F-18?

Wrong

Fulcum

Even at 105% you overspeed the airframe, Typhoon is too fast for that low down

With the changes to AOA you might not be able to do it now.

ok, so your whole complaint is that you cant be bothered to manage your throttle?

More the terrible instructor, twitchy flight model and dogsht CAS loadout.

hmmm

“Typhoons flight model for ground battles is not great.”

“Meta is FnF weapons and having a handful that can be easilly intercepted makes the Typhoon for CAS a poor choice”

“Its twitchy, likes to flat spin and if it does take any damage it becomes a brick.”

Yes you are right that is one issue highlighted out of 4 separate issues. You are good at reading.

I can not wait for Gaijin to implement the auto throttle mechanic to prevent you from overspeeding, for example reducing throttle or even pulling airbrakes when speedometer goes red. Would be one of the best QoL to add to top tier jets

which is just straight up wrong

it is one of the best FMs for GRB assuming you actualy bother learning how to control your plane, the only competetor is rafale which has a much worse CAS loadout

and you have a decent number… of these (there are only a few airframes that get more and they have much worse flight performance and other downsides)

cant comment on the first part, but if you clearly have not tried flying a damaged F-15E in game

I can’t speak for the EFT, but I don’t think the Rafale is among the best FM for low penetration as of now. Having the capability to rip at 101% throttle even with a full CAS loadout is pretty annoying. Sure, you can “control your plane”, but in low altitude, having to manage the speed along with working the radar, evading missiles (both ARH from stratospheric SU30 and ground SAM), shooting your ground armements… makes it quite a lot harder. I’m having an overall better time with the Mirage 2000 RMV in most similar situations just because the FM is more forgiving, even if significantly worse.
Hence why I can’t wait for a top speed limiter for modern jets

From my understanding SPICE 250 are quite hit or miss tho; at least the AASM guaranties 95% of 1 shot kills, even if you only have 6 of them.

Also comparing a fully working EFT (and rafale) which can flat spin quite easily while undamaged and even with significant CAS load to a damaged F15 is a bit weird imo ?

?
the second half was talking about damaged EFT…

My bad did not read correctly the second part of his sentence.

The greatest hindrance for the EF is the subpar implementation of the instructor which doesn’t know how to use the rudder at all. At low alt and high speed the EF behaves like a bobsled which causes you to gain height without wanting to when trying to fly a curve without tilting your plane to 90° manually before initiating the curve, bringing you into an area where enemy SPAA can target you.
