hopefully the chat will work this time
Haha, yeah hopefully, if not. We’ll figure something else out
Bomb tossing?
after the last testing of EFT vs SLM with Morvran we came up with possible tactic to counter the SLM - treetop approach and then tossing sufficiently large enough bomb with use of CCRP when in range.
EFT should theoretically remain safe during the approach and expose itself only for a short time for SLM to counterattack.
Fly low, pick a target on the map and either using unguided or GNSS bmb, lob them as far as you can
You using the new map feature im assuming, been doing it quite a bit in the f100. good fun sniping spaa.
Would this be with glide bombs by any chance?
we have yet to test it of course, we dont know how well will it work against missile with terminal IR guidance.
but during the first round of test morvran was able to approach my SLM battery with flying extremely low.
my initial idea was to use GPS bomb to strike precisely at the radar unit; morvran later suggested that larger iron bomb (likely Mk82) will do the trick the same if not better due to better AoE effect.
as for glide boms, not sure. theoretically it gives you more range but entire point of this strat is to get as close as possible undetected as to not expose the plane to SLMs range.
If we can settle on date beforehand, you can join the testing if you want, just to watch or participate thats up to you.
Given they have a max launch speed and can be a pain to actually get slow enough to use. I was planning PW4s with the higher launch speed or the 2k unguided bombs for bigger blast area
Thing is with ccip, especially tossing it is that its horrendously inaccurate. Ball park is a that your in a grid square of the target. 2k is probably your best bet if your not using gps but it would require using both rather than hoping one would do it. I think bringing the 6 1000lbs and having it as a series would be the best bet. Have the target point slightly infront of the target so it carpets the area around it.
I’ve had very good sucess with CCRP lofting in ASB at the very least. So I think its fine. But the question is whether you can launch far enough for it to have an impact.
Just needs testing.
Is this flying over a base or tossing it in a vertical loop? as the vert from a distance gets wildly inaccurate.
30-40° degree pull back on the stick to lob bombs at bases or AFs
GNSS would correct any issues though
looked fine to me, that pattern isn’t the quickest. Plus my guy… 8km… wat ACM doin’
this one is pretty easy to explain, tws+ makes it so that it only appears on your radar screen after a full complete pass, and it takes 2 passes to get proper target vector and heading, so after 5 ish seconds is when you can really launch if you only use cyclic switching. I would say use hmd or acm in this instance
If this is what people mean by invisible tws i get it on the shar sometimes?
my default is TWS from SB where you need the IFF. If this was ASB, that might not have been an enemy, instead might have been a friendly.
But that target was scanned about 4 or 5 times before being detected
Ultimately, doesn’t build a lot of trust in the radar if the answer is still “just use ACM to lock on”
Here is example of how I use chaff and you can see that I do not have to aggressively spam it to defeat AMRAAM that is launched at close range. I am only using clusters of 2 and it took 26 chaff to defeat 6 missiles. It took 1/7th my chaff load to defeat 6 missiles; technically my BOL load could defeat 42 AMRAAMs. And this is with all my large caliber countermeasures dedicated to flares and also some BOL dedicated to flares.
Not with BOL chaff they can’t.
In game it has been tested and BOL flares are nigh on useless.
he just showed it
