Anyone else noticing that the MAW fails when the enemy fires a Aim-9L at you?
IRL the EF can equip Meteors in the wing pylons or its limited to the belly ones?
Should be able to have them on the same spots as the AMRAAM
Definetly can take 6, the question is whether or not the double racks are also possible.
So we might take a max count hit if/when we get meteors.
Why wouldn’t it also be possible? Weight is not the issue I think. Same compatibility as amram
I think they are heavier.
According to Google, meteor is about 30kg heavier than Aim120Cs
2 meteors is less weight than a 1000lb bomb that eft can already equip in that pylon
But it might be beyond the twin mounts weight though, not the typhoons pylon
If Gaijin uses that argument then it would be guilty until proven innocent. Because there is no evidence that shows that can’t carry that weight. Hopefully when it does come it gets 2x
Well, 2x 185 kg (Meteor) would mean 370 kg at zero g-force and without aerodynamic stress. Now go 9g at >Mach 1 and you have already 3,33 tons pulling on that pylon still without aerodynamic stress.
Yeah, so probably more than the twin mount can handle.
The Typhoon pylon itself can handle a 450kg weapon without issue
That would already cut it close if you put the pylon at 50 kg (if it is to carry all that weight, stress and g-force) → 420 kg. Is the Typhoon even allowed to fly max g-force with a 1000 lbs bomb at that pylon?
546.5kg for the ePaveway II

Probably not, but its not a thing in-game
550 on that pylon.
no. the 550kg rating is to 5.5g
I was just going for the weight of an unguided 1000lb bomb in KG, but the ePW2 is even heavier than that
Is the MAW currently brocken? I get either wrong distances or no warning at all for incoming missiles from a “2S6”.
what’s your ping
25-40 ms (most of the time <30) and no packet loss.
Weird. usually that’s because of ping
I had a missile not appear at all the other day (Aim-120D) I think MAWS is just being glitchy since the major update (and it wouldnt be a major update without it breaking something that wasnt broken)
