Anyone else finding that 9Ms no longer have IRCCM?
They seem to just go for flares instantly

They broke them again after fixing them half-heartedly? Why am I not even surprised…

Actually, I might have been wrong. At least in the Typhoon match I did. What I saw on my screen was the 9M just changing direction, but I think what happened is the target got destroyed and my missile went for debri but from my angle it looked like a flare.
Added to the F-14 and nerfed 😆
Yeah, wouldnt be surprised.
Need to keep an eye out in the next few days because im not sure if they are working as normal (and just a bit poor) or something is slightly wrong. They do feel a little different though.
seem to be working fine, only missile ive died today to is the 9M (yes i am playing 13.7)
Can’t say that for me. They feel as (un)realiable as before ^^
Is it just me or are the HARM pretty meh?
Guess what’s pretty good though?
Another new A2G feature, another unjustified void for BRIMSTONES
So when ALARM drops a parachute after detecting a target, there is no motor to boost the missile?
Nope, just freefall and fins while the missile has to hope not to be too far off the target (because of IOG drift and/or wind). That’s also the reason why I first assumed it had a dual-pulse engine where the second pulse can be ignited on demand, but that’s not the case according to the sources.
In loiter mode it decends from the peak of its apogee over the target area suspended from a parachute, if it detects a target it cuts the parachute and falls to the target just using gravity.
Without the ability to saturate, Im really not surprised.
IOG should not be an issue, as the missile is designed to strike the, given pre launch, position of the target, even if it does not emitt at all
Switched now to Tonka with HARM works better(surely not because 2x more HARM)
If i can be bothered to touch anything higher than 10.3. It will be only to mess about with the GR4, but Ive heard mixed things about it in GRB
All IOGs drift, more or less depending which technologie is used (e.g. laser, semi-conductor micro-mechanical systems, analogue, etc.). Combined with wind, which is much stronger in upper atmosphere layers and can also change directions orthogonally in just <100 meter height differences, it can drift far off the target in a short time (if the direction of the wind isn’t taken into account before launch). Without propulsion it is much more difficult to hit a target under these conditions.
How does it accomplish this without GPS?
It flies on IOG
