Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

I wish we would have something similar for the Tornado SLE :(

We have a Az/El display for the radar screen in ground;

And this thing

SLE missing an ELS? Same as Tornado GR as well then, Tornado F.3 has an ELS though.

Atleast currently its just searching like the Eurofighter in game, with all the Sensor Fusion it has it could be but doubt there is prove aviable

Zusammenfassung

I found that, for the Tornado ECR we could prove it…

Based in the Tornado IDS airframe and retaining its proven capabilities, the ECR Tornado utilises the basic platform and in particular the gun and ammunition bays of the IDS, to house sophisticated electronic warfare equipment. The emitter location system (ELS) located in the gun bays and wing roots of the aircraft, will detect, locate and classify enemy emitters, including air defence radars and communications stations.

Does the HARM have off-boresight capability? For example, can it use a 360-degree ESM and the HARM’s A2A mode to attack enemies behind the aircraft? I had forgotten the possibility that DASS (ESM) might not respond to aircraft. I hope DASS will be given the same capability as the HARM seeker, but even if it were possible in reality, it might be too powerful and end up being restricted or sealed away.

Considering reports on HARM payload capacity, the possibility that radar-homing missiles may increase to 12 is impressive.

It remains to be seen when the ESM will be able to provide target designation for more than just anti-radar missiles. Unless I’m mistaken, the Typhoon has this capability.

Kh-31 is over performing

should i be suprised

Oh well, that’s nice

why? is it because it’s faster than the AGM-88?

Top speed at low alt exceeds Mach 2.7. According to documents on MA-31 which is just a Kh-31 with actual weapon stuff replaced with target missile equipment, 2.7 is its absolute max at low altitude and 2.5 is typical for sea skimming

As it was linked above, it still travels with Mach 3,1 after 173 km travelled distance. AFAIK it should be completely out of energy after 160 km.

which is for the Kh-31A/P and not the Kh-31PD

i dont think that is the case for a missile with over 200km max range

Spoiler

My interpretation of what Kensai said doesnt conflict with that.

But from 160km ish to 200+km its just operating on whatever kinetic energy it has left and would naturally begin bleeding speed not maintaining it

Weird, I found 160 km for the the PD (the one limited to Mach 3,5 because of friction heating). There is another version with a Mach 4,5 limit because of better insulation which has a higher range.

Did they implement its bad precision at least? A CEP of 5-20 meters + a target hit probability of only 80% if no countermeassures are used by the target (meaning it’s even worse when going up against CMs)?

Correct me if I’m wrong but even base model Kh-31 max out their speed before ramjet burnout right?

What the actual …?
Are they just laugh at us in plain text at this point?
