In the case of the Eurofighter, wasn’t the reduction of AOA pulled (march 2025) that lead to the wings not snapping anymore?
Limited rate was also a factor though yeah, I remember when you mistakenly neg G and the wings would absolutely get nuked.

Could’ve been a number of factors but roll rate is limited for playability reasons. Typical failure was players using max pitch with roll, the higher roll rate would result in huge G’s at the wing tips and queue the reddit/forum posts about wings breaking haha.

My personal experience studying / working in aerospace engineering is not really relevant here, if for no other reason than I have no way to prove it without doxing myself. What is relevant is that I’ve been to the National Archives plenty of times and read thousands of pages of documents on Eurofighter where it is made clear that the key design aim is to create an aircraft which outperforms the Flanker in just about every way.

My frustration with it is if folk stopped trying to screw each other over, we might have gotten somewhere sooner lol
But it be what it be. As an aside, can typhoon carry a heavier bomb load? Kinda miserable to get the AESA on dev with piddly payload.
What impressed me about that one was how Gunjob yeeted the source and it got implemented like 24h later in the lil weekly patch/fix.
