Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Notch angles dont actually change, but in lookup scenarios, the radars MLC filter shuts off, which renders it succeptible to chaff (it still has other gates that are supposed to handle that to some degree tho, but they seem to have mixed effectivness in-game)

Thanks for the answer. I now have my answer why spawn camping high alt circlers in Su-30s and Rafales can butcher the whole team in an extremely short amount of time in arcade with no chance of retaliation for you… Your missiles don’t work in lookup while trying to get to their height earns you a missile to the face and multipathing isn’t an option because of the near vertical attack angle of their missiles. Also I can tell you: The “other gates” of the AIM-120 (no matter the version) are plain useless in a lookup scenario.

Hello, IRIS-T and AIM-9X

What are you trying to imply here?

that the brit EF could get IRIS-T and 9X.

IRIS-T has always been on the table tho soo idk

So does that mean F-15 can get IRIST and F-16 get ASRAAM and IRIST? Nice

🙆‍♂️

Not exactly automatic 🫠

Yep, just look at the Phantoms and Tornados

Tldr Hosbso bombs are coming to the efts.

No promises for all nations. But my guess

Looking at HOSBO so far and other stuff, I say its only for the German one

How does a HOSBSO compare to a SPICE?

1000lb, not 250lb, larger, probably better seeker and range

Eh, wouldnt bet on the better seeker.
Would need to look at datamines.

Essentialy it will be bigger bombs but fewer

photos of them have them on different pylons to spice so if nothing else the number of self guided munitions goes up

Ye, from 8 (Spice) you can atleast go up to 10(8x Spice, 2x HOSBO) if we would only get the outer pylon

So a report was submitted and accepted for the Eurofighter-AESAs to receive the AMK kit which was initially underlined as being part of the P4E upgrades (report can be found here):
Eurofighter (AESA) missing it’s aerodynamic modification kit // Gaijin.net // Issues

However, it seems that in a new Airbus presentation the AMK kit (along with other things like self-protection improvement) has been pushed back to a later upgrade sometime by 2040.

Spoiler

Now the question is, is the in-game Eurofighter-AESA supposed to go further past the 2030 upgrades and incorporate 2040 upgrades?

It does look like if the Eurofighter gets the AMK kit, it would be the most new aircraft in the game by far (2040 variant).

Doesnt look like anything has really changed though.

Pre-2030, get the CAPTOR-E online
During the 2030s, other upgrades such as DASS upgrade, other additions and AMK
2040 onwards more to come.

The slide doesnt state anywhere that AMK has been pushed back to 2040. Only that its planned in the 2030-2040 period, which is what it always was. The likelyhood was that most of the P4E upgrades would be 2030+.

AMK was never going to be just added because a report was accepted, like all things in war thunder, even basic things, Gaijin will treat it as a balancing tool and add it ONLY if they deem it necessary, like a lot of things at the moment, they dont really deem much as necessary unless its the soviet TT.

AMK would be a sensible addition if/when its needed during the era of 5th Gens. At the moment I would just settle for an overhaul of the Instructor, fixing outstanding bug reports for the FM, finishing the cockpit and fixing the god-damn BOL.
