Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

EAP just looks more elegant than typhoon.
So I would assume - EAP is a she.
While EF is our boy.

Both EFT and Rafale are elegant gorgeous yet wild European ladies.

EAP is more like teenager version of EFT, more subtle and still under control of its parents.

Hey - they even did some kitbashing in real life. Is that or is that not a Tornado-eqsue tail on the EAP?

Quite a dinky little thing if you ever see it in the metal. Well, plastic. Some metal, but quite a lot of plastic. People got very annoyed if you referred to it as Pete’s Plastic Plane. Hence the common argument.

‘IT’S COMPOSITE!’

‘Plastic then.’

Aero-engineer rage intensifies.

Some background to those not aware - EAP heavily made use of bonded carbon fibre and related materials. To those used to working with alloys in the industry it took some getting used to.

It coincided with the technology to make it at scale becoming viable - meaning that you could start using it in large chunks of the airframe to make for some very light, yet also ridiculously strong structures. This is quite usefull if you want to make sure your new super-fighter can be chucked around the sky without bending out of shape…

Any proper lady would be offended upon being called fr*nch.

What’s up with you guys?

Both plane are gorgeous and can be called lady without offending anyone, instead of uniting both sides trying to slit each other’s throat.

Shame…

I just remember everything that happened prior and after EF was added.
This grudge is something I dearly hold within my heart on purpose.
Because the moment you put your guard down - the fr*nch act.

You guys should stop fightin each other and unite with Gripen boys.

These gorgeous delta canards deserves better treatment and we can only achieve that by sticking together.

Forget the past, embrace the future.

Not a single bad word would come off my fingers towards grippy.
It’s their fault anyway.
And yea, baguette is just lame bread.

Cross-channel fellow feeling…

Yes Minister 3x2 - BBC2 - “It’s to protect us against the French”

Meant in the greatest affectionate way. (We love you guys across the channel, even if we don’t necessarily understand you…)

@Gunjob I wonder if there is already an internal report about the Eurofighter’s missing Conformal Fuel Tanks?
Because, by WT rules, they should have them, no?

no bc its a T2 EF in WT and the plumbing for the CFTs were only added for T3 onwards

AESA ones are T2+, can get anything devs want them to.

Iirc, the EAP did use the Tornados RWR which I think is in the tail? (Don’t quote me on that)

It was one of the things they should have added to have some flavour between the 2 phoons

None of the models in game have the CFT mounts currently.

So the AESA ones represent Tranche 2?
Captor-M: Tranche 1
Captor-E: Tranche 2

both are tranche 2

They are T2+

As the AESA is compatible with T2 onwards. However if in the future, that changes and they somehow only become compatible with T3, then that option remains open.

Its why we have not locked them to a spesific Tranche.

Would definetly be a good way to add greater flavour between the 2 near identical airframes without directly affecting balance

TYPO! 😜

The British Captor-E one has no serial but had the GPS antenna and AESA added, so it’s at least a Tranche 2. It has no CFT bumps, which all RAF Tranche 3s have. So visually it’s most similar to an RAF Tranche 2
The Captor-M one has a Tranche 3 serial, but lacks the GPS antenna added at Tranche 2, and has no CFT bumps. So model-wise it’s close to a Tranche 1, ignoring the serial painted on it and some other capabilities.
