What you are saying makes perfect sense but Gaijin believe and the reports reflect, that the Rafale is performing close to it’s real world counter part. Yes it’s better in places and in inferior in others.
The Rafale is performing in Gaijins eyes as it does. Now the only other Euro Canard in game that is considered Gen 4.5 is the Typhoon.
The Typhoon on the other hand is underperforming in a large metric of it’s real world capabilities and we all thought this was likely a “balancing” tool. Ignoring reports, claiming “marketing lies” while chosing to blindly trust Kh-38 brochure from 5 years ago… Typhoon has a rough time of getting any meaningfull changes and fixes.
Turns out Gaijin have largely forgotten about Typhoon, Radar is still very broken and we still dont even have a UV tint for the cockpit and all the bugs on the Dev have ended up on the live server. (I know that’s not exclusive to Typhoon)
I agree though Typhoon having realistic performance/Radar would completely invalidate the F-15E BVR style gameplay which it should. In the short to medium range if Typhoon had it’s realistic ITR and STR it would be like a Rafale and as you pointed out 3 nations have Typhoon (Although you will be lucky to see more than 6 on both sides!)
This airframe has been considered in terms of kinematics the closest thing Europe have to an F-22.
Unfortunately the Typhoon at every speed just feels heavy and unrefined. Will Gaijin buff it when they add F-22?
I think we are once again going to fall victim to the statistics system Gaijin use, Typhoon with a crap Radar small payload manages to get kills it’s fine lets not tweak it. We know Gaijin doesn’t care about balance for the anyone outwith the major nations and Air has predominantly been Russia vs USA with France only starting to sneak in. We will likely see Gen 5 this year or early next year. Are they going to nerf the F-22 or claim “marketing lies”?
Meanwhile in the background the Rafale keeps getting buffs and fixes.
