Bro, I’m grinding to get the UK top tier CAS
Don’t make me stop
Grinding with the buccaneer S2 is frustrating.
Would also be slightly more useful if Gaijin made laser ranging IRSTs (Rafale, some of the Russian ones, etc.) trigger LWR. But they don’t for some reason.
I already have German one alongside with British model.
As for this so called unique experience, we already left that authentic experience long ago, thanks to gaijin’s decision.
Ir missiles can track any sort of threat in knife fight relatively easy.
You mean artificially gimped radar missile that can be easily notched or multipath?
No thanks, I prefer an Ir missile that has HOBS capabilities while it can reach 5-15km relatively easy without worrying about those problems.
If you want to taste uniqueness you can always choose ASRAAM over IRIS-T when you’re flying FGR in that case.
You do realize people also use their jets on GRB right? Which is the whole reason why people kept grinding same vehicles despite they are located in multiple tech trees.
You gotta drop these one nation main moves, it doesnt suit you.
Was the Meteor equipped with GNSS? It seems that being equipped with GNSS is currently a requirement for obtaining a seeker like the D-AMRAAM. Or is it a two-way datalink?
Couldn’t tell you sorry.
Datasheet just says “Inertial mid-course with data link” but Gunjob or Flame would have a better idea.
IIRC there’s not any evidence to suggest it was.
Since the last patch, I keep having this bug where the FGR.4’s CAPTOR-M Radar stops detecting any targets at all in TWS about mode 5 minutes after the game starts…
Anyone else with the same issue?
Nah, don’t see why it would need it either. Ramjet sort of negates needing that when it has energy in spades :P
Another thing ive noticed this major. Render distances in Tpods/FLIRs seem way lower. Things are only rendering around 10-15km.
This is because D-AMRAAM and PL-12A seekers essentially ignore all chaff regardless of whether the target is notching, unless they are at extremely close range. The combination of the Meteor equipped with this seeker and the CAPTOR-E radar provides an overwhelming advantage, so I truly hope that this seeker (or perhaps its guidance profile) is applied to the Meteor as well. If the Meteor were to have the same seeker as the AIM-120C-5 or any other ARH missile, it would simply be an unremarkable missile.
They don’t ignore the chaff. The missile itself still receives target data from the aircraft radar, plus with 0 IOG drift it can still reacquire without losing as much energy as before. Of course, a AIM-120D/PL-12A missile on its own will be the same as any other if it’s sent without maintaining lock.
Meteor doesn’t have GNSS, so it’ll perform more or less the same as most missiles. Lastly, the Meteor has a seeker based on the seeker in the MICA EM.
Gotta love fact checking :)
Don’t get why people would want absolute hypothetical radars instead of something that is at least plausible/based on reality
i think its more so that its a 1 to 1 C&P between the 10C and 15T that pisses people off(tho thats up to gajin, so its kinda over); but he deffo didnt do his research before posting that lol
Well, we don’t know if Meteor does or doesn’t have GNSS. It’s not claimed either way afaik, we just don’t have sources currently if it doesn’t have GNSS. But I could see GNSS having less importance placed on it especially since GNSS is susceptible to jamming and two-way datalink could still be useful in a EW heavy environment. If EW is ever introduced into the game, they should make it affect GNSS missiles as well.
As cagey/vague as Raytheon is with their AIM-120… I think it’s a pretty good bet the Meteor doesn’t have it if MBDA also didn’t hop on the “hype train” to use additional buzz words to attract buyers.
Raytheon themselves said AIM-120D has it → they received it ingame.
AVIC said PL-12AE has it → they received it ingame.
Pretty high odds either way that Meteor doesn’t/won’t have GNSS.
I could see the upgraded version having it, though. We’ll have to wait and see.
Where is the source for this information? A friend of mine says that the C-8 has GNSS and two-way data link capabilities, and he used Janes as his source.
