Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

I just got it, it is good, its a shame Gaijin cant do the same :D

Unlike the modders, they wouldnt be limited by things like the VWS having to same thing regardless of CM dropped

Yeah i didn’t notice much only time MAW wasn’t going off was when 9X/RB98 were in my deadzones or I had high packetloss not that MAW saved me when the missile was that close anyways

Not just EF’s but other VWS systems are also great.

Im in love with Russian and Chinese one as well, glad decided to join his patreon.

I just wish they allow for VWS to be enabled by modders so stuff like the AV-8B and Gripen can get their VWS through the mod.

Yeah that would be excellent too

To be fair, the double pylons are cleared for service but has never been seen with them mounted other than renders

That’s goofy AV-8C should get this sound too. Its got the same kit as the F-14. SEAM and all

Goddamn the MAWS has been hit & miss recently, either using the wrong countermeasure or not seeing missiles at all. Combined with the fact that BOL Chaff is borderline useless against AESA datalink, going high is currently a death sentence, been having hard luck with BVR recently.

Captor-E scan speed if it wasnt nerfed 😅

Same goes for EFT.

I haven’t seen any EFT pictures that shows its armed with double rack on wing pylon for Aim-120’s yet due to technical capabilities Gaijin added.

I’m spading my AESAphoon now and the RWR also seems to be a bit schizo from time to time.

I only started spading if yesterday so I’m not sure if that has always been the case though.

It’s a good mod this, Gaijin should buy it from the guy and make it standard, so we can have our own callouts like China.

This begs my question, IIRC the EFT cockpit is in English across all nations, so do all nations have to get the same Northerner PTSD as me in being given instructions and data by Southeners.

Most likely, same as the F-16 VWS is universal to all that are fitted with it. Would be easier to keep them all in English that is understandable for most people since English is mandatory for aviation communication. Imagine you’re a German Typhoon pilot and there was a selector for different language VWS but you’ve fat-fingerd the wrong option and suddenly you have a scouser screaming missile warnings at you.

yes it is

We need to be able to understand what is being said, couldn’t do that if it was a northern accent 😛

(Though a Scottish VWS would be hilarious)

Drop the sensitivity a bit

The RWR is very sensitive at 100% and you really don’t need it that high. Dropping it seems to help quite a bit.

Im currently on 70% and not noticed any issues

Official Eurofighter simulator trainer showed a multifunction display with dual rock amraam

For the sensitivity, I’d still suggest 100% and I’ll explain why.

Typical ARH terminal lock range is 16-18km, if you reduce sensitivity of your RWR to say half (50%) for simplicity you will only detect a terminal ARH at 8-9km reducing your time to defend against an incoming missile.

Hmm… didnt realise it was quite that simple

Seemed to me to reduce the amount of “side-lobe” if ive got that term right, contacts, without affecting the range at which I detected stronger contacts like a missile lock.

I assumed it was more RWR specific, so if the RWR was capable of detecting the missile going active at 50km and I reduced the sensitivity to 50%, it would still detect them at 25km for example. At least that is what it kinda feels like to me at least.

Yet we havent seen any Eurofighter with dual rack amraam pylons in real life.

Which means Eurofighter is technically capable but airforce chooses not to use it with that configuration for now.
