Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Really even the 120C, I don’t have a jet with the R-77-1

120C will have marginally better range as per usual but the 77-1 will actually turn in less than 20km at those speeds.

Even a 120C.
On par when launched from EF/15E, way better than from hornet.

Surely the Hornet spawns at mach 1.5 to help out that struggle bus?

It’s completely subjective to developer’s wishes. The F-18C also has a spawn speed advantage too but not the F-18E which needs it the most out of all 14.3. They’re hoping no one realizes

The F/A-18C spawns at Mach 1.1/1.2 while the F/A-18E spawns subsonic (Mach 0.8 I think).

Only the F-18C, not the F-18E. If the F-18E doesn’t get it and its worse than the SU-30SM2 in every way while at the same BR of the SM2 why does the SU-30SM2 get it?

funny thing is both su30s get it as well and have had it for a while

They always were. R-77-1 quite happily match the performance of a C5 if not exceed it

Finally… Enemy and teammates flare detector 9000…

“Missile, 2 o’clock, low” and it’s a flare 90km away dropped by a teammate in a dogfight

This point is funny by the way, because you instantly get an “overspeed” warning the moment you spawn in the F/A-18C ^^

Having a great time with this radar setup, while also being the German cursed one.

Missile is still bad but the datalinking with the Captor E is like night and day compared to the Microwave-M.

Solid 8/10 jet imo.

I’ve been playing with this in mind, but it seems there’s still an issue where the data link is lost even when enemies are displayed on the radar scope. Wouldn’t this malfunction be quite significant for an AMRAAM carrier? It’s disheartening that minor bugs still remain even though AESA has been implemented in this game for over a year.

AWAC mode is awesome fun too for finding the last bugger hiding

Yeah, especially when you don’t have RWR pings, therefore no general indication of the enemy position.

My fav scan mode:

narrow enough to have a good update rate, and tall enough to have every high/mid/low flying target displayed, works wonders for situational awareness.

Yeah, I usually use 90x30 for the bulk of the match. They just need to improve target selection somehow, definetly need to improve the mouse target a bit, but also have cyclic selection prioritise aircraft over weapons and also an option to toggle TWS auto-fixating. Because sometimes I want to point my radar into a specific bit of airspace, but it keeps snapping back to something else. So If it only fixated on something when I told it too, it owuld be awesome

This is actually so true, I even keybinded the new IFF mode for the radar, sometimes the clutter of allies, missiles from both enemies and allies, chaff etc. is just unbearable; You struggle to tell things apart from one another.

I always use manual target cycling, and I just can’t target what I want in some situations…

In one update they ruined all small HE missiles.

Hellfires, Brimstonses, JAGM are all very unreliable
Probably throw SPIKE and Akeron in that discussion
