Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Iirc in both cases he is talking about aerodynamic heating of the motor case, as, the outer shell of it, that we can see while looking at a missile.

Idk if was the launch, but… 9M isnt being kind to me, both scored only hits

motor case temp also includes internal heating (its not just aerodynamic heating) which changes for a ducted ramjet engine and a solid rocket motor even if its the outer shell. so using motor case temp would be misleading . also can u provide the source ?.

Quoting flame

He specifies Aerodynamic heating, not heating overall.

I cant

It is explicitly taking about aerodynamic heating:

Does the live version of the AESAphoons have AMK?

Nope

None of the AESA Typhoons have AMK

No, but will be good if/when they are added to all 3 nations

Or 1. Depending on how uk/italy orders

Version 2.53.0.17 has been released, but the issue where TWS ESA loses its target has not yet been resolved…

I hope that a CAPTOR-E that works properly will be deployed soon.

Agreed, every nation should have AMK, I think

The fix was for ESA updates providing velocity updates bouncing high to low repeatedly forcing the radar in TRK MEM.

You’re losing targets in the notch because all ESA radars in game are pretty easy to notch. All of them have the same notch gate.

Stage-2G and Stage-3G having the best notch gates in the game still continues to be the case. Rare Tornado win.

Are ESA radars more, less, or equally easy to notch compared to mech scan radars?

Easier compared to most mech radars. Advantage with ESA radars is the target gets picked back up instantly as it exits a notch. Where as a mech radar will have to typically complete two full sweeps to retrack the target.

The behavior of TWS ESA has been broken ever since Spearhead was implemented. Enemies outside the scan area still disappear, even when not notching.

and there seems to be a bug that allows maintaining a 200x200 scan range even in IR mode.

That I think is only when the radar automatically switches to IR to maintain the lock, but yeah, probably should be prevented from doing that when outside of the IRST FoR
