Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

It appears in quite a few places with the similar wording but i can’t track down the actual original source

Me yes :)
I exspected other stuff but Spice is an start :)

@Gunjob any movement on potential AMK kit?

Oooh, 8 FnF bombs, thats good, but actual Brimstones would have its place too

Still hope we get the other aspects of our A2G resolved.

  • Missing multiple GBU options
  • SAL Brimstone 2s
  • Some form of long range stand-off GPS weapon with a decent warhead (GBU-64, Storm Shadow or Taurus)

but it certainly resolves the lack of FnF option, at least till MMW

well spear III would solve them being scared of MMW and it team killing people

Yeah, it would, but only the soviets are allowed 100+km weapons at the moment

@Pheonix_RX01 @Firestarter
I’m not saying that Captor-E has become bad, but it is again “catching up” and not “leading”.

Hmmm, looks like an diffrent pylon

So… When SPICE 250 ER? The Mini-Cruise-Missile with a turbojet and around 150 km range? :D

Result: Likely Photoshoped

There was a bug report it shouldn’t be able to HMS to that extent should be 60deg and not the full 120.

Does this somehow cancel the possibility of doing this through STT or TWS?

300 km range*

Actually @Gunjob is this intentional as it stands?

Really? Is the fuel in that small missile body enough for that as it doesn’t really differ in its dimensions from the default SPICE 250? The sources I found also say “around 81 miles/130 km”.

Seems they somehow made it work.

Oof, sounds kinda like black magic or the range of other missiles like the SPEAR 3 is heavily understated.
You have to fit the engine and the fuel tanks into that small frame without changing the dimensions of the missile/bomb body too much after all… Could that be a typo in the brochure? 200 km would sound way more realistic even if that’s still a very long range. Speed would also be interesting to know.

accurate :P

MBDA have a track record of doing that
