Honestly getting the AESA EFT now feels a bit wasted. No new missiles, no better A2G capabilites, its just the same plane with a better radar. Just so we can then grind a new version with IRIS T, ASRAAM and meteor next year

Im guessing the AESA version will get IRIS-T and ASRAAM and Meteor. etc etc.
A bit like how the SAAF Gripen C was added before Fox-3s and then moved up when they were added

im gonna hope the AESA version will get the cutting edge missiles while M-scan keeps the current (AAM) loadout

What am I looking at specifically
scan patterns for the Captor-E
specifically the fast pattern with a 0.04s period that covers the entire arc of the Typhoon’s radar limits, both vertical and horizontal
Edit:
oh i lied it’s 100 degrees horizontal, not 200… but it does look to be 200 degrees vertical? 80 bars at 2.5deg/ea gives 200 degrees.
Completes the scan pattern in 3.4s too

youre wrong. a functional radar is needed for the eurofighter, and the current eurofigther is already compatible with new missiles. Also the eurofighter got double pylons which gives it +2 aim-120’s now
