Ohh yeah I know Im just wondering what the scan range of only the AESA system. If AIrbus and Leonardo went nuts they could theoretically put the E on a constantly rotating platform that does, say 30 RPM allowing the aircraft to scan the full 200 by 200 degrees in 1 second. I dont know how good that would be for actual target acquisition and stuff, but I am no radar tech. Maybe if they rotate the thing at 60RPM and you could do the whole scan in half a second.
Then again that would put a serious torque on the jet (but not one the control systems couldnt handle)
I’m assuming the super hornet coming with 12 AAMs alongside the high missile count of the Su-27 family means we get the benefit of the doubt to push our missile count up a little
