I do
IRIS-T is quite easy to defeat now. They have FOV only, they lack ability to detect AB and their sensitivity to flares is identical to all aspect sensitivity.
Wow they are really poor those need massive work. Do we get sensor view on the dev? Would be interesting to see what the IRIS-T at that point is doing?
So we can see how poor IRIS-T is tracking
Well we probably have 2-3 dev servers to get this thing working
We sure can, i am doing so at this exact moment.
All i can say is, poor guy
Thatβs a bad time! Does the seeker TRK mean itβs switched to IR mode now?
Yes.
So if this was modelled correctly that missile will just chase you down until it kills you or you somehow manage to decoy it with spectral cmsβ¦
What does spectral flares have to do with anything here?
Are these not the kind of flares that decoy IIR missiles like ASRAAM and IRIS-T etc?
Spectral - Flare CM DSTL81 (218 advanced fast jet, 2" x 1") β Chemring Group PLC
So this wont decoy an IIR missile then?
No
Why do manufactures promote these and britecloud systems as a way to decoy IIR missiles then?
What are you talking about?
How are expendable RF jammers supposed to counter IIR missiles?
Britecloud is just for Radar the render I read was misleading when it said it matches IR and Radar signature of the aircraft.
Ok then so what if any countermeasures exist to decoy IRIS-T, ASRAAM and other IIR missiles?
Volumetric flares, like BOL, that create a giant wall of IR signature between the plane and the missile, so it cant recognize it. But that is if a missile is behind a plane. Other than that, DIRCM or death.
Matching a whole IR signature is impossible using things like flares.
