HUD tint. Maybe. Take it or leave it

Luckily we can all breathe easy

Missing something lol

When gaijin runs out i wouldn’t be suprised if we see bottom of the barrel stuff like this

The only people breathing easy are the french mains that are confirmed to get to continue ruining air battles and padding their stats in their OP jet for atleast another 4 months

Do we think later EFT will even be on par with later Rafale models?

No, this was already discussed. EFT with ECRS will be a bit closer, but the missile and FM situation is still MASSIVELY in the Rafales favor, and until gaijin stops screwing around, that isn’t gonna change.

As it currently stands, the only jets that might compete with the Rafale as modelled in-game are MAYBE the Su-35, and the F-22 and Su-57 specifically, all the other 4/4.5/5th gen jets are most likely DOA.

  • Su-35 cuz missile load and gimballed radar so it can fire from the notch
  • F-22 cuz flight performance
  • Su-57 cuz flight performance and missiles

Everything else is screwed atm

Dang, well appreciate the answer

There is no reason why the currently in-game Typhoon couldnt be on par.

ASRAAM / IRIS-T to give HOBS would eliminate the Rafale monopoly at close range

Buff/Fix the Aim-120B/C5, actually make them a threat at longer ranges

Properly modeled CAPTOR-M or CEASER would be more than enough to bring us on par with radar.

Fix the BOL would help immensenly with our defensive position

Fix/Finish the FM would help quite a lot in the dogfight.

Other misc fixes like sorting out the correct ammo in the 27mm, etc etc.

In A2G some Brimstones 2s would be rather nice.

Then as the Rafale gets buffed, as can the Typhoon, with further upgrades like full CAPTOR-E, AMK, etc etc.

is Eurofighter HMD able to have a full IR display over its HMD (like F-35) or its just limited to Pirate’s FOV?

i remember asking a similar question before and was presented with a image, it had the pirates view + full IR view differently so got a bit confused

As soon as ASRAAM is added we are gonna see other missiles like MICA IR, i cant see adding new missiles closing the gap especially if we see Meteor

Would be limited to at least PIRATE’s FOV, but not sure if its also able to use the TPod feed.

I wonder when gaijin will model that, would be fun in sim

I am aware than MICA IR would also be added.

But Magic II + MICA EM vs Aim-9M in WVR is hopeless.

But MICA IR + MICA EM vs IRIS-T And/or ASRAAM would actually be at least somewhat fair

It would be fun, but no idea. Could be ages. Still waiting for relatively basic things to be modeled

I think its time to buff the amraams turn atp, even R-77-1 manoeuvrability report got accepted (however who knows how many months it will be sitting in that accepted state), probably not something as on release but rather in between the initial and current state.

Whilst fixing the AMRAAM’s flight performance would help, as would things like smokeless motor with the contrail overhaul. Its really the seeker that needs some love. There is at least 1 aspect of it reported, but I think there is a lot that could be buffed.

I do wonder how much of it is Gaijin generic modeling and thus could be buffed without report and what is actually documented.

Adding 5th gen IIR for most nations is actually a bigger deal than adding MICA IR for France.

Rafales already commonly run 6-8 MICA’s in-game cuz the missile is so good, so adding MICA IR just means replacing MICA EM’s on the Rafale, which means decreased range for increased seeker performance.

Adding 5th gen IR missiles for other nations means replacing considerably less meta missiles

  • 9M → 9X for US
  • 9M → ASRAAM for UK
  • 9M → IRIS-T for Germany/Sweden/Italy
  • 9M → P5 for Isreal
  • AAM-3 → AAM-5 for Japan
  • P3/PL-5EII → PL-10 for China
  • R-73 → R-74M2 for russia

In general, if you consider it from the BR side of things, all of these missiles are like 13.0 missiles, and the MICA is a 14.0 missiles.

Also means that for all nations except russia, they finally get HOBS capabilities, which means sub 10km is a lot less skewed in favour of the Rafale.

MICA IR does have the range advantage, but thats somewhat negated by MAWS, ARH missiles and better radars. So the Rafale will be better with ambushes, but only vs targets without MAWS.

The MICA IR is also literally the worst of the bunch in HOBS launches if gaijin decides to keep going with LOBL only, with only 60° of gimbal limit vs all the other missiles 90° (except maybe the R-74M2 which might be stuck with 75°, still better than MICA IR though)

i don’t think it’s going to be implemented any time soon. similar reports for aam4 and amraam have been sitting untouched for literally over a year now lol

smokeless motor wont really help meh?
plus gaijin doesnt wanna give a good seeker to anything but mica, better seekers can be considered once ECM is here

Smokeless motor would just mean that if you were to fire high unspotted by radar and not trailing contrail, you’d not

A) give away your position visually

or

B) give longer ranged warning that a missile has been fired.

Without those bits of information its possible the target wouldnt start defending until the AMRAAM went active.
