How is it wrong? Its SEP values are over performing I think at high altitude especially. SEP is energy loss when turning basically (specific excess power)
After the FM fix in March the jet just wobbles around because the rudder behaves like shit tbh, and that makes you bleed quite a big amount of speed, I’m not asking for the insanity that is the Rafale energy retention, but just an FM that you don’t have to fight against while defending or notching.
I’ll take a look at it, cheers.
Certainly the Euro Canards…Typhoon feels like a boat the instructor does not know what to do with it.
It’s from march so I think it’s the patch you’re talking about
thats just how pulling AOA at altitude works
most of you lateral stability in level flight is created by the vertical stabilizer which is much less effective at high AOA, and further reduced at altitude
Yes and no but the canards and the flight computer would keep any high AOA input smooth and not jerky like it is in game. The Typhoon should feel as planted as any of the other Gen 4+ aiframes and it doesn’t
how? you have no control surfaces on that axis so what can it do
edit: no other control surfaces, and rudder is ineffective at that AOA and altitude
Be that as it may the aircraft should turn smoother than it does in game and that’s a massive problem with it.
and you know why that is?
because it has a G-limiter and AOA-limter IRL
Which would make sense if the F-15, Su-30 and others can pull similar G and not have the aircraft jump all over the place.
It’s a limitation of Gaijin’s flight models. Canards function differently in game.
those arent unstable airframes like the EF
and the F-15 dosent even have a G or AoA limiter IRL
Yeah, ive noticed that too, the FM just gets… squirrelly at high alt. its wierd
Though Ive noticed issues in other aircraft too, like the Harrier IIs just spasm when you turn with a heavy load. So i think the instructor needs an overhaul more than anything else
And you think the more modern FCS on Typhoon would make it twitchy and hard to control when flying fast and at high altitudes?
It’s a is a problem with Gaijins interpretation of Canards and FMs.
the more modern FCS would make it smoother
but becasue there is no FCS with its AoA or G-Limit modeled it cant stop that
it really isnt, because the F-16 does the same
there is one thing all those airframes have in common, they are unstable and dont have their FCS modeled
Su30 is definitely a unstable air frame
how does the two seater cockpit of the aerodynamically stable Su-27UB and the canards of the aerodynamically stable Su-33 make the Su-30SM unstable
Because it would not buffer like a WW2 Mustang. These FCS systems are dampened we have seen Typhoons at airshows and the jet isn’t shaking around it is smooth.
I would bet that that canard and control surfaces are making 100s/1000s of micro adjustments to ensure the airframe turns at the exact rate the pilot has requested.
Since when are the su33 and su27un/su30 stable, what’s the point of its fly by wire then
