F3 Vs F16 stood a slim chance as you could BVR against it and could out run it (just). The same was not true for the Mig29
From what I can find, when R-27E entered service, the “west” was firing Aim-120s… So…
Only after quite a major outcry from them adding R-73 to only the Mig29SMT and Aim-9M remains weaker in most respects despite multiple bug reports to fix basic things, like lock range
need forced remove of radar&rwr screens from HUD
I mean, I still try to get as many reports on the list as possible, and since I strong believe I wont get an copy of the Internal list I just take every report which got refered to in here :)))))

r27er exntered service before aim120.
even r73 needs a lot of fix , pretty much every IR missile in war thunder suffers from bad lock range compared to irl.
When did it enter service the R-27ER
1990 iirc, but AMRAAM has been successfully fired since 1982 and they just took their time to get it into service (1991)
They were probably waiting for the AIm-120B improvements but Desert Storm forced their hand. From what little I know. Aim-120A was far harder for ground crews or something?
if u include test fires than r27r/er would also have an earlier date.
Eh, they didn’t use AMRAAM in Desert Storm but they did use it later in the region, so I think they were fine with the 120A and just took their time with it
When was the R27ER first test fired then?
Not to play devils advocate but the Soviet union collapsing would have delayed any integration of R-27ER or R-77.
27ER entered service the year before
the economy of the soviet union was in decline for a few years before it collapsed
it wasnt something that just happened from one day to the other
May I ask what the R-27ER has to do with the Eurofighter Typhoon?

The Mig29SMT was added in the sons of Attila same time as the F16C, needless to mention the latter was infinetely Better than the SMT.
It certainly wasn’t weaker at the time nor After, and It always remained competitive up until very recent times where it’s started to struggle.
Why is the targeting pod acting like this, i tried locking it like 8 time and nothing happened
Yeah it doesn’t work for some reason, it’s probably for all planes since i had this problem on the rafale too.
