For the past year, we have been denied our principle FnF A2G weapon for both the Tornado Gr4 and Typhoon on the grounds that “MMW is too OP”.
If the US gets JAGMs with FnF and Brimstone doesnt then we call BS, likewise if JAGM gets a placeholder seeker to enable FnF without MMW, we again call BS
We’re on the same side, but like… Longbow apache been in the game for years without principle weapon. We’re tired of it. Their excuse was no countermeasures for MMW but… literally yes we have shown them that tanks can equip smoke grenades that counter MMW radar.
There is IR weapons that work the same way functionally in the game that are FnF for everyone else now, why are we being stingey now and instead adding them in the form of… the missile that replaced the longbow hellfire? Like what??
The only conceivable explanation is that they want the additional range or are going to be laser homing mode only.
They allow early russian tv bombs to track tanks for balance as well as add the kh38mt despite it only ever being seen in a brochure and yet were not allowed a stop gap ir version of our missiles due to mmw being too broken for the game and will probably never be added untill we get something on par with iron dome at taking out ordinance…
if they just named it weird and they are adding the JAGM-MR (increased range to match CM-502KG and LMUR), then it would also get IR guidance. which would mean FnF in line with whats ingame
the UK should also be able to get it since it is meant to be compatible with whatever JAGM is compatible with
Oh I see, you’re right. Sweet, so JAGM-MR could be an interesting addition. Standard JAGM might as well be longbow hellfire unless they intended on making it SALH only.
Or alternatively, however unlikely, if they choose to add F&F they could be trying to avoid locking the 64D to a higher BR, so adding a new airframe would allow for a new aircraft at a (significantly) higher BR with fire and forget kit without significant affecting the old aircraft’s capacity.
They just want people to spend the money to unlock the helicopters, I don’t know a single person who has actually spent the shameful amount of time it requires to actually grind one. The top tier helis are the one thing I have heard of people paying more $$ than a rank 7 premium for that isn’t an expensive marketplace item for squadron battles.
It’s a hellfire with improved seeker, it is compatible with anything that could fire hellfires with only software modification. Would they have authorized the updates for their AH Mk.1s? Hell nahh. Not when the opportunity to sell them 64E’s we don’t want anymore is on the table.
Place your bets, how much ΔV will the snail CAMM give?
Considering that the usual CAMM is ASRAAM with ARH, then I will assume 1300-1500 m/s. Because, as smart people said here, ASRAAM has 60-80% more fuel than AIM-9.
In theory, the ΔV of the usual CAMM will be the same as that of ASRAAM, which will appear under the wings of the Typhoon in 6-12 months, IMHO. So, having seen the СAMM in the game, you can estimate the characteristics of ASRAAM as imagined by the snail.
Well, if previous form is to be believed it will go something like this.
Everyone: ‘CAMM missile is claimed by manufacturers to have X performance.’
Gaijin: We think is marketing lie.
Everyone: ‘CAMM missile should actually reach the end of the rail before running out of puff and flopping to the ground.’
Gaijin: Not a bug.
Everyone: ‘This is one of the very latest missile systems IRL, much less added to the game.’
Gaijin: We think it looks like Igla - so it must be about the same. *Burps a mix of Vodka and Antifreeze’
Put it this way - if the snail DON’T nerf these latest SAMs in a totally arbitrary and not-at-all biased manner (coughs in Brimstone) - I’ll eat my hat and buy a WT premium pack…
After having caught a ride on a flying pig to my nearest magic-bean seller who also happens to do a roaring trade in bridge sales…
An extra 10kg. Which is actually quite a lot for a missile in that class.
ASRAAM is likely 1300-1400m/s - 166mm cX around 1.4
I expect CAMM to be 1150-1250m/s. - 166mm cX around 1.2
CAMM-ER is likely around 1500m/s - 190mm cX around 0.8
Note I expect ER burns for quite a lot longer to extend its range, rather than hitting higher speeds than CAMM.
