Oh god please don’t.
why are you quoting a 3 day old post
are you crazy?
I’ve been summoned
Be un-summoned please
Any differences in kinematics between blk 6 and original asraam? Or is the only difference being that it is made with 0 American stuff and also potentially having dl?
iirc it’s better (non-US) seeker, all the other American stuff replaced and potentially datalink but kinematically the same (aside for maybe like very very tiny weight differences from the new components)
I wouldn’t say better than US… since they are trying to outsource for replacement seekers on their principle air to air missile. Arguably it is better than the original but the context in which you typed it seems to snub American seekers.
Man, it clearly meant the old us seeker. maybe stop sucking up so much to the american industrial complex lol.
It is literally confirmed to be a higher resolution seeker. This is known information.
Right, they went to a domestic seeker and upgraded at the same time. There was no need to make the slight towards American made products. Funny someone thinks I’m a U.S. shill or something and I’m not even promoting anything.
?? It was an objective statement of fact. It is a better (non-american) seeker
UK (supposedly) eating good this update, Sky Sabre and a couple of hornets on the leak lists.
I fear the state CAMM will be in and im not that fussed by the Hornets. If they are 12.3/12,7 it would patch a hole but if they are 14.0 then they are a waste of time.
Im still hoping for major overhauls for the EFT, SHar and Tonka this major. With the new SAMs, maybe we can finally get Brimstone 2s on the Typhoon
I mean all the sources about CAMMs performance seems to be pretty good, but the smokeless missiles will be the most interesting part. Definitely hoping for Typhoon fixes this update, especially the radar that they broke, again.
Hopefully we’ll get CAMM-ER not just CAMMs but yeah. WIll also be interesting to see our first glimpse of ASRAAM
Ehhh, CAMM-ER might be a bit much xD
Though it does state the ‘Operational’ range of CAMM to be 16 miles (25km) instead of ‘maximum’ range, sooo HOPEFULLY they used the word ‘operational’ correctly xD
Between ASRAAM, CAMM, and CAMM-ER, what are the major differences ?
Does CAMM bring Datalink for example to the missile capability ?
Yes to datalink and its ARH not IIR, so different nose and a little more weight
CAMM-ER is double the range
Datalink is the main guidance method.
ASRAAM is not compatible with CAMM launchers, though is parts compatible with CAMM. IIR guidance. Ground launched ASRAAM has a 15km range.
CAMM is a little longer than ASRAAM (3.2m vs 2.9m) and uses a ARH seeker, >25km range.
CAMM-ER has a new larger motor section, which brings the length up to 4.2m and the diameter to 190mm (from ASRAAM and CAMM’s 166mm), the new motor gives a >45km range. Same guidance section as CAMM.
There’s also the >100km class CAMM-MR thats under development, but no idea if it’s using the same launcher, and IIRC is still in mockup
