Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Yes it is!

1 SQN FGR.4 and a 29 SQN T.1. Nice touch and lore behind the XXX(30) is that they made a mistake many years ago and instead of painting (XXIX) missed the I and it kind of stuck. Still called 29 SQN tho as 30SQN is some transporter operator.

Dear god please fix the Typhoons Radar,
It’s the most inconsistent and useless radar to use.
The thing refuses to lock things up well within range, coming straight at you, loses lock if the enemy sneezes and gets me killed so often.

It’s a joke

Too op cannot be added :D

Unfortunately… I fear they’ll use the poor state of CAPTOR-M as a “balancing feature” for a while yet to come

Balancing feature for what?
I understand that the absence of a double pylon for the AMRAAM on the second from the edge pylon or the first internal one is a balanced solution, but the radar…

Meanwhile Rafale,Su-30,F-15E and even F-16/18C finds target easily Xd.

Yeah, but none of those will beat the Typhoon in a gunfight, and therefore need better radars

(I have literally had someone tell me this before :D )

Rafale with insane flight model

Su-30 with TVC+ R-73.

If I read things correctly, this is for the funding of the fully GaN ECRS Mk2 radar, which will start production for the British EFTs in 2028 (so probably not going to enter service until 2030). Is there any plans for the British EFT to receive AESA radars before that ?
I believe export EFTs such as in the Middle East are already receiving AESA as well ?

Currently Britain only plans to operate ECRS Mk 2. They’ve decided the substantial performance increase of the ECRS Mk.2 compared to the other ECRS radars (and pretty much any comparable AESA radar) is worth waiting for. Particularly as CAPTOR-M is still a very solid radar.

There will be airframes with the Radar equipped now, for testing. The funding is now secured to mass produce the system and in time upgrade some of the existing Typhoon fleet.

For War thunder purposes it could be added right now.

Kuwaiti Typhoons have the ECRS-MK 0

Report on the effective angle of TWS_ESA
Will this unrealistic specification be allowed? I wonder how they plan to deal with it when models like ECRS-MK0, MK2, and ES-05 appear.

We say it everytime new technology is added it has to be done right or the game has to change and it never does. We should by now have ECM/EW systems at top tier.

Captor E materials state the Radar can effectively sit in the perfect notch while maintaining perfect DL.
In typical Gaijin fashion IRBIS will probably be the first Radar able to do this.

But for a Typhoon Player I just want a Radar that can find and track targets.

This is what I think, but is it wrong?(Using the Su-30SM radar scope as an example )

Is this not the TWS+ mode that saves some of the tracking data?
