Ah no what i meant before is you find a target with PIRATE, lock with PIRATE, and then with that lock you can quickly swap to radar (giving a fraction of a second lock warning), launch, and swap back to PIRATE
Using PIRATE to find targets over the 63x40 area and then independently tracking them with TWS works just as well (although less useful with the AESA)
So my advantage with PIRATE would be to ONLY trigger their RWR momentarily when launching the AMRAAM? But doesnt the radar still guide it, so STILL triggering the RWR despite us having switched to IRST?
Anyway I am still mega excited for the new systems, especially AESA.
Nope, if you’re in IRST mode that’s it. Radar is off
The single biggest advantage of PIRATE is in ground rb though, where you can sneak up on people and hit them with 9Ms when they have literally no clue.
Which I believe is supposed to be “extended range missile guidance” but they seem to have forgotten to type “range” out, cuz I cant think of any other thing this could be referring too.
Sadly the Number of the engine power is still clipped to 00.00 when at full AB :(
Surely we will get the fix soon, maybe we only need an 3rd EF for each nation to get it fixed
