Which is funny as the AN/APG-65 of the F-4F ICE is the predessor of the CAPTOR-M in the EFT. The latter one should be an all around improvement in every aspect with double the pulse power (9 kW opposed to 4,5 kW).

The Tornado F3 late has a much better radar probably top 3 in the game and the captor M is normally better than the Fox hunter …
The four AA pylons under the fuselage (half submerged) are only compatible with AMRAAMs or Meteors AFAIK so it will always carry at least four MRAAMs.
Not quite. The decision for the EF radar came down to the British/Italian ECR-90 which was a development of Blue Vixen and the German/American MSD-2000 which was a development of the AN/APG-65GY. But ultimately the ECR-90 was chosen, which became CAPTOR-M.

I’ve come across some more information which shows the captor radar is so much more than a just a re-hash of the blue vixen.
Like, it doesnt even come close, and the power level and performance is what you would expect from an AWACS rather than a small and light fighter.
I doubt its able to be used in a report, as the source is not named, and likely from restricted media.

Anyone else notice how the texture is kinda low res compared to other textures? Comparing it with the tornado for example.
The new textures they added today are higher resolution actually so it is definitely low res on the default camo.

ECR90 was the early prototype produced in 1990 with the intent of being 3x more capable than the blue vixen.
There were essentially 4 variants.
ECR90-A
ECR90-B
ECR90-C (Named Captor-C) - fitted to Tranche 1 only
Captor M - Fitted to tranche 2 and above.
Captor M appears to have more than double the performance of the ECR-90A

So 3x than the blue Vixen for ECR-90A and that doubled for the CAPTOR-M meaning it should be 6x more capable than the Blue Vixen while it currently is worse than the Blue Vixen…

No really… There is no way to prove the capability of the CAPTOR-M as everything is still confidential about it. Except the goals that were set for the radar to achieve and the fact it was chosen which implies that it reached all those goals.

And if these were thermal missiles like the Magic 2, then I would still put up with it, but the 9M has been showing itself to be ridiculously awful lately. A year ago it was a monster that was a miracle to throw off. Now it will be a miracle if this piece of a missile hits anything.

It completes refresh of top bar in 8 seconds. Iirc its like flanker or worse as i saw flanker having 7,4 sec. It stores track for 8 seconds which means its getting deleted when it arrives back to refresh ot at top or bottom bar. That thing is horrible in 4 bar.

You can go and argue with F15s only. Mica is nowhere near performance of amraam when current meta is spamming long ramge missiles at high alt. Everything else get either worse fox3s, same ammount or even less. Eurofighter is powerhouse kept back by stupid bug that affects all radars but those with most bars and mid scan rate, are affected the most, which captor is currently.
