Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

yeah the reason is they put the engine in the plane and now dont feel like changing it

this type of thing is also not restricted to british vehicles

Yes I do find that strange

That explanation doesn’t explain why they gave it a different engine in the first place though, does it…

that assumes they have a reason

Well yes it was a conscious decision to give the Tornado GR.1 different engines to the other Tornados.

A bug report was submitted to have the engines changed to match the other Tornadoes and it was rejected, with the reason given being that the Devs had chosen to add the GR.1 with weaker engines.

Also a bug report to adjust the thrust of the Mk.101s to be more accurate (not only was it given weaker engines, those engines were underperforming) was accepted and actioned very quickly. So Gaijin clearly weren’t just being lazy as they had no problem adjusting the thrust of the engines, and could have just as easily changed the thrust to match the other Tornados. They clearly had a reason for wanting the GR.1 to have weaker engines.

Try harder next time.

and the reason given so far is to “create a feeling of progression going from the GR1 to GR4”

but all 3 Italian TT Tornados have the Mk103 and the difference between the IDS and IDS (1995) is about 1/10th the difference between the GR1 and GR4.

So yeah, it definetly doesnt make sense

su30 got buffs?

did i miss something?

It got things like the Tinted HUD and some changes to its radar right?

i think the game would be improved significantly if gaijin actually hated britian and put a 10% debuff on everything in the tree

Happy to report, they already do, our vehicles average 0.3 BR higher than everyone else

i wouldnt really call that a buff
and if we do that then i have wo tell you how nerfed the Su-30 3d model is

i mean the engine performances are like the exact same in game so it wouldnt really change anything anyways

Sometimes their stated reason is different from their actual (internal) reasoning

It might be due to Tornado GR.1 having access to PGM-500/2000

Then it should be given a higher GRB rating not an engine nerf and it had the engine nerf long before PGMs were reported or recieved.

Also the same logic should then apply to the ASSTA1’s JDAMs

I do agree that Tornadoes with their horrible FM, can certainly use the best engine they can get …

I’m just saying, what devs say =/= what they really think
They just say what they feel would be more acceptable to the player base (Instead of their actual reasoning) …

Though, I can not rule the “devs hate Britain” theory out either :)

I’m not debating that. I’m just saying that they definitely used Blue Vixen as the base code. That’s been subject of a few theories being thrown around here. I’m just confused on how they made a really good radar into the Craptor-M.

I still don’t understand why Soviet top-tier missiles on their attack aircraft work on a fire-and-forget principle, while Brimstone missiles on the EF-2000 require laser guidance. In reality, Brimstones operate on a fire-and-forget basis! Why is it like this? Just give us six missiles but with proper guidance.

Its because of how the FnF works within the Brimstones and Gaijin total refusal to compromise in this regard and incidence that Brimstone must be properly modeled or not at all. (but this doesnt apply in many other areas of the game)

At this moment in time, with their current refusal to even consider modeling MMW. We should at least get the Brimstone variant the Typhoons actually used, the Brimstone 2

Well isn’t that what you are trying to do anyway

Loaded with spite

Doesn’t it seem like there’s a one-sided love for certain vehicles in this game from the developers?
