Eurofighter Typhoon: Oncoming Storm!

To my knowledge, the SU-27 and MIG-29’s IRST systems use LRFs for ranging.

Yes i could do that on the dev though only moving targets

How much is game limiations though is an issue, Ground radars for aircraft such as those on the Typhoon, are relatively new to the game

But yeah, some half decent A2G modes would be awesome for the Typhoon, especially given no FnF AGMs at this time.

The Synthetic Aperture Radar function can be used to create radar maps and images at a high resolution of 30 centimeters. This allows surface objects to be detected and identified while facilitating navigation. Accurate tracking of both stationary and moving objects on the ground is enabled by the Ground Moving Target Indication/Track function. Identification of possible targets is aided by a built-in database that has various threat entries (such as tanks), providing the pilot with a type assessment. CAPTOR can thus also facilitate the engagement of possible targets such as fortifications, vehicles, or surface-to-air missile installations. To create situational awareness in the naval domain the radar features the Naval Targeting mode. In that mode, the radar searches for sea targets using multiple detection methods. Surface vessels can be detected and tracked at distances over 180 kilometers. With the Terrain Avoidance function, the radar can also display obstacles and provide timely warnings of them. The Precision Velocity Update and Ground ranging modes provide accurate environment measurements over the ground and feed data to the aircraft to update onboard navigation systems. - Source

Yeah true XD

I’m most fond of modern kit, so this is indeed very exciting

Cool, now add the AIM-9L/I-1 to the German and Italian ones. There is no logical reason other than laziness for them to not have them.

Well that’s a feature of a lot of aircraft using TGP and indeed it’s quite impressive

It is if you’re playing Isreal.

It is, by virtue of no alternatives.

Wait, why no Italian pack advertised? I know that F-104S was removed from the store, did I miss something or AMX was as well removed?

Neither of those make it a top tier SPAA. Israel simply has none

It says ten missiles, but in what config? 4+6 I am guessing? or 6+4 cause double racks.

There are 4 belly mounts for 1x AMRAAM each and 2x pylons per wing. 1 of those pylons is always for an Aim-9 the other can either have 1-2x Aim-9 or 1x AMRAAM.

So to have the max amount of AMRAAM of 6, you can only have 2x Aim-9.

For 10, you’ll be running 6+4. The Optimal loadout is likely 4+5, with the TMC on 1 wing and the AMRAAM on the other.

Thx. So max of 6 AMRAAM, with 2 IR, or 5 AMRAAM with 4 IR, pretty good although I am expecting it to be quite similar to what J10 is currently, since AMRAAM count is probably more important.

Except with much higher Airframe performance.

Whats also nice about the Typhoon is you dont have to sacrafice A2A to have A2G.

3x Hardpoints per wing for A2G
1 is the Aim-9/AMRAAM Pylon but the other 2 are free and clear for now (Fuel tank will go on one of these pylons if we get it).

Taking A2A on that pylon enables you to still take 8x Paveway IV (1-2 per pylon, except the AAM pylon which is only 1x Paveway IV, also twin Aim-9 rails block twin Paveway IV on the pylon next to it) or 12x Brimstone (3 per pylon)

So gunna be really powerful in all modes for multirole

(Tpod mounts onto the belly)

thats where the mistake was made, other than pubstomping 6.0 with the super shermans cracked HEAT that whole tree is a travesty

Yeah, I hate the J10 for having max of 2 A2G and 2 ARH for CAS, I am asking for extra glide bombs RN, so I don’t have to sacrifice my double rack for them. The airframe I don’t think is that big, I am more excited about the two massive engines, should allow great supersonic capabilities, also better radar, could spam AMRAAM with it. How many CM does it have? I am still waiting for my Chinese domestic fighters, got a bit over hyped about J11B and J10B. I think Eurofighter might just be one of the new meta CAS, although that said, nothing can stop a Su34 from being the best, especially now that it gets FAB3K UMPK.

Yeah, One thing I hate about the Gripen is how much you have to compromise for anything.

Brakes off to 36k ft and Mach 1.6 in 2.5 minutes :P

Can easily super-cruise

Its gunna be awesome fun, but really need bigger maps

Was Blue Vixen placeholder on the Dev server, so really excited to see what they do to it. Was confirmed they were doing work to it. Should be the best mechanical radar in game. Period.

64 Large Calibre CMs + 320 BOL (which werent modeled as BOL so actually work and dont have the BOL nerfs)

The lack of FnF AGMs will hurt, but not really much else can climb as hard as the Typhoon and it has the best tpod in game. I also really hope they replace the ahistorical Brimstone 1s with Brimstone 2s that have 200% increased range. Would be awesome, even with SAL only.

Also the RWR can detect K-Band, which will be huge when dealing with Pantsirs.

Yeah, as of now, JF17 is the only non Russian thing that can see K-band lock, thanks to the fact that it has same RWR as the tiger helis. But that thing has to sacrifice a lot for CAS as well, pretty much only Soviet CAS can counter soviet SPAA RN. I am wondering if we can get it fixed, could HQ17 change the meta even slightly, we are trying to get it to 1000+ meter velocity RN.

Gripen I think can as well. i dont recall if its gotten K-Band or if the report has just been accepted though

But yeah, Pantsir is insane.

I dont think the meta is gunna change much till we see the new SPAA added to all nations. Though I think we can assume Soviets will be one the first.
