It’s a real pain not being able to defend yourself against incoming aircraft or other helicopters. It should be added for parity with other helicopters for balance. If the team isn’t willing to do that, give PARS its historical proxy fuze, the bug report was accepted and hasn’t been added in almost a year.
This horse has been beaten for years now, the tiger won’t get that turret or the 4 extra pars for that matter unless everyone else gets some god heli and germany gets left in the dust, even then probably not. That turret is literally like asking for the IRST on the current german eurofighter, even more unlikely as apparently the chin mounted turret was only ever proposed, no tests or anything were made afaik.

Im guessing he just means you can IOG at a target using ‘CCRP’ rather than necessarily needing line-of-sight like you did previously thanks to the new map target thing. You can fire fairly accurately at a general location without needing to expose yourself and then just pop-up when you need to

Question about the MAW:
Does the MAW detect and track enemy missiles in range currently to calculate if the missile was shot at you so it only uses countermeasures if needed (like it’s in reality) or does the MAW just register there is a missile in a proximity sphere around the EF and dumps countermeasures?
I have the feeling it dumps countermeasures when a missile gets in range even if it just flies past you kilometers away wasting much more flares and chaff than needed.
current war thunder implementation is just “IR target nearby? ALARMMM”
It’s IR it reacts to anything in the proximity of it’s detection zone including other flares.

It wouldn’t be that hard to implement that correctly as WT since a few patches knows when a missile got fired at you and when you evaded it. So just get that missile, check if it’s in range and field of view of the MAW and then drop CMs. If it starts chasing CMs or gets lost (missile evaded) stop dropping. Done. This would work for IR/UV/RF MAWs the same without going off from flares or stray missiles.
Not a real simulation but it would be a kind of “hotfix” with a proper simulation implementation coming later on.
The real system uses Radars and would give you the calculated impact time of a missile shot at you.
I just want them to filter flares and maybe friendly missiles as a stop gap for PD MAWS
the jet irl will even give directions on how best to defend against the missile aswell!
The reports are already in about maws, when it’s modeled correctly (maybe in about a year) it will be able to tell the time to impact of a missile and type of missile (ir or radar) and throw out countermeasures accordingly. Some downsides would be that it can’t tell exactly where a missile is which wouldn’t be such a big downside anyway.

One big reason this left a bad taste in my mouth is that the UK and Italian tech trees were given jas-39 as a supplement to their tech trees while germany kept the f4f ice as thier top tier jet, and when the Eurofighter was added, the German one is the worst, despite the pirate irst being a lru that Germany kept the right to purchase and is only needs to plug into the attack computer and replace the panel. Why gaijin is so insistent on not giving the German ef the pirate irst, even as a modification is very odd, as I doubt any players would be angry over one nation getting the ability to be on par with the other nation eurofighters.

You do know that Sweden and Britain had nothing for an entire year but still had to fight things like the German Mig-29 in aircraft that had notable disadvantages in every single aspect, including loadout.
Germany only had a minor disadvantage with the ICE for 6 months. Unlike the F3 and Viggen D, the ICE had equal or superior weapons to every other nation on a platform that was perfectly usable.
Also, Germany’s Typhoon is technically massively overperforming compared to IRL. IRST is a tiny thing that is irrelevant to game balance 99% of the time. Especially when you consider that the German Typhoon should not be armed with smokeless Aim-9s, Paveway IVs or Brimstones.

Uh? I’m pretty sure F3, at the very least, had and still has ‘superior weapons’ in the form of 9Ms as opposed to ICE’s 9Li’s.

Neither should British nor Italian ones, especially cus Brimstone 1 Dual Mode was never used on a Eurofighter. UK should get their Brimstone 2s, and Germany and Italy should get Brimstone 3s (as the former acquired them, and the latter trialed them).

F3 early, the one we got in March 2023 to fight Mig-29s that had a god aweful FM for 18 months and an unusable radar for its first 3 months.
F3 Late though is the direct equal to the ICE but is 0.3 higher for unknown reasons
Given its T2 Block 10. Only Britain should have Brimstone 2s. Germany didnt fit them to T3s as far as I am aware
viggen di is not the top tier jet for sweden, it has been grippen since before the update

You are right, german ef should not have the current munitions
It should carry iris-t, meteor, brimstone 3, and ljadam.
However, the brimstone 3 , meteor, and iris-t are not going to be added until all nations have a equivalent, as adding it currently would break the game.
What I want to illustrate is that it is not a gift that the german ef is getting this equipment, it is to make up that the actual equipment is too powerful to be added at the moment.
