Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

It’s just the EF.

Rafale is still an UFO, cus the French need to be hand-held ;P
Rafale also can still pull 15Gs, the EF is hardlimited to 12Gs.

Rafale can pull 17G still

I was pulling 15G pre nerf with full loadout, can barely pull 12 now with the same loadout lmfao
Wild stuff they did here

When will Gaijin fix the radar of the Typhoon?

Irony is dead lol

man i hope they integrate this onto EF
but we’ll need a rocket pod first sadge

These are supposed to be heli launched (for the H145M and whatever the Germans will buy as attack heli), I doubt something like a rocket wil lbe integrated.

Lmao, lmfao even.

Rafale is getting hand-held mate.

Interesting, I guess its a little more effort for EFT as we don’t use any rocket pods of any kind on any version.

thats the biggest concern here imo
they use something similar on f-16s

Objectively, there isnt much reason for a fast jet to be running small rockets with limited payloads like these in modern times, besides for anti-insurgency work I suppose.

Gone are the days of the CRV-7’s punching through Warsaw pact countries aircraft bunkers 🥲

Yeah, APKWS rockets for counter drone

unguided rockets sure but these are guided and ideal for shooting down cheap garbage like shaheds

Anti-drone drones are even cheaper for shooting down stuff like Shahed and dont requires you to run an expensive asset like an EFT or risk a very expensive pilot to do so. There just isnt much reason to have small caliber rockets, guided or unguided, on modern combat jets for anything but anti-insurgency work.

APKWS is being mounted to trucks as anti-drone technical, not to jets afaik, and even then, its seemingly being replaced by more efficient and cheaper anti-drone drones it seems. It was a stopgap solution before something better and cheaper was developped.

Still in use (from last month)

On one hand, thanks for correcting me, on the other, I’m still kinda half right, its being used in an anti-insurgency role where using anti-drone drones isnt feasible :p

Oh no, it’s been used on jets in combat. But yeah, it is a stopgap solution afaik. I heard there was consideration for an IR guided APKWS, but don’t know if that went anywhere

From Datamine (Dev version: 2.45.1.32);

CAPTOR-M (Eurofighter [DEU], F-2000A, Typhoon F.G.R. Mk. 4)

  • MPRF search, MPRF ACM, MPRF track, HPRF track: doppler speed range: -1500 / 1500 → -2500 / 2500 m/s

Watch it somehow make the radar even worse

there comes a point where those interceptor drones will no longer suffice. plus, the jets will be up during an attack regardless, so its better to give them some cheap rockets to shoot at shaheds than amraams
