PIRATE should be able to guide AMRAAM onto a target, which would be very helpful with being sneaky, especially in gamemodes like Sim as you could track a target and get into an ideal firing solution without the target knowing and then firing.
PIRATE is also suppose to filter out flares, which makes it ideal for maintaining a lock in a dogfight on someone actively defending, enabling for the rapid lock and fire of Aim-9M or (when fixed) AMRAAM in a dogfight.
PIRATE should also have a much higher range that it does now, so could be used to find targets at long range and lock onto them, enabling the above AMRAAM launch (though in sim, this is limited due to no IFF, but the tpod in the PIRATE should lock onto the IRST lock, really need to work on that report). Should also provide both the range of the target and the ability to operate like a TWS, tracking up to 200 targets (though without IFF)
This factually with the data from its performance in game. Once again, a key feature of the UHT was not having a gun. If you have evidence to suggest an experimental version that did, a suggestion can be made for that separately for consideration. But a gun is not planned for the version of the UHT we have in game, as it did not have one.
At least the reports for the outer pylon dumb rocket pods / gun pods and the extra pars launchers could finaly be looked at those are nearly over 2 years at the least as well, while i think the old site had those reports for quite a while longer as well.
While we all admit the gun was never mounted (if it was classified). However, there exists a certain missile it could be given for capable self-defense.
And it does not need any imagination to be mounted.
I almost always used IRST on the Mig29G, once you use the 2 radar missiles, slaving the R73 with IRST is extremely useful.
It also doesn’t alert someone when you have them locked with IRST, alerts them with PDST
The biggest buff to the Michaels has been the fact Rafale’s radar is straight up superior to EFTs atm, by virtue of CAPTOR-M being modelled like Blue Vixen for the most part, missing ‘features’, TWS straight up not working, and scan speed being way too low.
Alas, they’re also vastly superior in ‘CQB’ ranges, and aren’t a slouch at medium-range either.
Fix EFTs radar (I propose to copy paste Rafale’s AESA code into EFTs CAPTOR-M) and Michaels will cease to seem to be better.
its an improved version of the improved version(haha).
comparing it to “the AIM-9M” is not exactly fair to the 9M as there’s multiple version of the 9M with different IRCCM capabilities just like the L/I(-1)
The RBE2-AA is an indirect buff to the MICA, not a direct buff. My post was referring to him saying there was a direct buff, which is incorrect.
The CAPTOR-M should be similar to the RBE2-AA we currently have and the RBE2-AA is supposed to be significantly better than its current state. Both radars are gimped just in different ways.
That’s why I said they (Michaels) will cease to seem better if CAPTOR-M gets fixed, since it’s not the missiles themselves, but the fact the radar actually works.
