i think thats when they do their own testing / qualifications. this is pretty standard stuff as different countries have different requirements for something to be certified and if another country’s testing doesnt match or exceed that then there needs to be a new round of testing
the logical step is to make them useable for both,
the meteor is quite a bit more expensive and if you ahve the stock you want to be able to use everything u have available
c-8s are getting added to Eurofighter yes.
the german f-35 package includes them already so they’ll be part of the Bw’s stocks anyways and as the current amraams are probably nearing their end of shelf-life its just a smart idea. Meteor production and procurement isnt sufficient as of right now.
Meteor is getting integrated into F-35 though but the german gov hasn’t participated in that venture yet and the brits have a lot of delays

its better to have the c-8s to replace A/Bs than to miss out on that capability all together and be stuck with like 300 meteors.
