I know I know, and Eurofighter doesnt even have its Proper armarment of IRIS-T/ASRAAM and Meteor yet
Spoiler

Missile textures got brocken from far away, if you zoom in they get shown again. Additionally a lock-on for glide bombs in third person is impossible… Should write some reports about that if there aren’t any yet.
Halfway shown:
Edit: A restart of the game client fixed it…

so i have a question the IRIS-T SLS and the Air launched ones are identical correct?
Yes
so does Uplink already count as datalink as the SLS on Diehls website is said to have Uplink to abort or change an Missile launch?
I have no idea.
cause i was curious and decided to check and Diehl does claim Hardware and software are the same for both missile, so in theory the uplink should be available for the air launched one too
German one is a little more detailed but can be omitted as it says the same
Spoiler

i do know there is special statements that datalink is gonna be added in iris-t block 2
could i have a link or picture as i cannot find anything par the announcement for IRIS-T block 2
there is different sources that still state it
The new IRIS-T Block II air-to-air missile will receive a new seeker, updated electronics, and a data link capability.
the problem is diehl scrubs a lot of information since its very actively in use
i saw that too but i saw no other sources so i kinda ignored it, as Diehl themselfes havent disclosed anything
In this bug report for the IRIS-T SLM, I included the whole presentation for Gaijin: IRIS-T SLM missile has incorrect weight // Gaijin.net // Issues
One of the pages of the presentation states
From IRIS-T to IRIS-T SLM:
- Optimized surface-to-air rocket motor
- Nose cone to further increase missile range
- RF Data link provides target data after launch
- GPS for precise navigation from the launcher to the target
So the IRIS-T is explicitly said not to have datalink.
well weird that they state that the SLS has live Uplink to the missile, even though the Missile used is one to one a normal IRIS-T
not realy, it lists points, but it doesnt specialy say iris-t is missing it.
specialy since the newer sources now say it receives this feature trough a software update now

straight from the diehl product pages
Not disputing Diehl here, but rather your train of thought, how would datalink be added to a missile through software without a datalink receiver being put onto the missile itself?
dunno, ask diehl that, there is some kind of data feeding going on
I would personally not put that much emphasis on the soft update.
yeah that isnt the issue, the issue is the picture beneath, a2a IRIST but it has an uplink so basically atleast one way DL, from what i can gather
this also isnt a typo since the german version of the website says the same
The question: Is a simple antenna which only receives a possible abort-signal a “datalink”? At best it would be a one-way datalink (platform → missile) for a single simple command (self-destruct). There exist also one-way datalinks on other missiles which are missile → platform.
