It would indeed improve the EFs atrocious rollrate for sure :D
It’s like night & day if you compare it to the F/A-18 ^^
I genuinely have no idea anymore what the EKs are gonna get and what not. But rumors like these are precisely the reason why id love some clarification on when technical compatibility matters and when it doesnt.
The main difference of note, if/when we get ECM will be the Arexis
Watch them give Arexis to the Italian and UK EFTs as well based one hurr durr technical compatibility, because otherwise it would be unfair.
It shouldnt be necessary. As we’ve got Mk2 ECRS
Fell thru. They’re going with ECRS Mk.1 MLU instead as that’s basically an Mk.2 but fully German/Spanish. All Mk.1s will eventually be upgraded to the MLU standard too.
Isn’t AREXIS for spherical EW? The radar would be just frontal and limited to its FoV and FoR.
I have to say I dig the AREXIS wingtip pods of the Gripen E and their placement of the AESA transceivers. Full spherical coverage just max. 45° off-boresight of any of the dishes.
I know, it was meant as a joke regarding the consistent rules we have regarding sharing EFT upgrades
Yeah, but DASS does already have some EW right? So its not just purely from the radar, but typically, you’ll probably be able to point your radar at the target when attacking and defending, so it sohuldnt be a major issue
Smin has explicitly stated no IPA Eurofighters are in the game.
Have you got a photo? I’ve only seen a German Eurofighter taxiing with Brimstone 1.
Call me when they order it
It is part of P4E we have paided for P4E
All nations funded it and put it to be a part of P4E
I know and just for the record im sure that every EFT operator will get AMK on their airframes but it still stands that so far theres no 100% confirmation.
If Germany had ruled out both PIRATE and ECRS Mk2 for future tranches, why is only one of them given due to popular requests?
Afaik cause germany atleast tested PIRATE on the IPA’s
So if some random brochure shows Germany considering ECRS Mk2 despite going forward with Mk1, then Mk2 is an option?
Soo… The BDLI (German Air and Space Industry) and the IG Metall are pleading to split the FCAS into two planes, accoring to this article (german). The reason is the still ongoing quarrel between Dassault and Airbus regarding the division of labor. I kinda get flashbacks to Rafale and Eurofighter here ^^
Would probably be for the best. I dont think coming to an agreement with Dassault is possible atp.
