Ok thank you
Just a clarification, Hensoldt source is rather misleading since they state the radar have a field of view (FOV) of ±90° and don’t mention the FOR, but sources from Leonardo and Airbus only mentioned the field of regard (FOR) being ±100°.
Field of view (FOV): refers to the area a sensor can perceive at a single, specific instant.
Field of regard (FOR): is the total area that can be covered by moving or reorienting that same sensor.
I send an Official FOI to the german MoD, maybe they can gave us the Yes, its 200x200 we need…
Yes that is necessary, lets hope they don’t deny it for some asinine reason.
What I would like to have on the Eurofighter is an indication on the radar page on the MHDD which radar mode is selected.
I as a Sim Player have to use the radar screen in cockpit because the Eurofighter radar page itself doesn’t give me enough information on which mode I am and so on.
An easy way would be to just ‘write’ the selected radar mode onto the MHDD button like in real life.
See here for reference
I have sent a email to the Hensoldt as well. Hopefully they reply.
iirc, that information is displayed not on the MFD, but on one of the buttons that goes around the edge of the MFD, and so Gaijin doesnt model that.
As a result of that, It would be good if they just added it somewhere on the MFD ahistorically
Though it has been suggested before that they could model it by just making the MFD much larger, so that the MFD is also displayed through the buttons around the edge.
Might be time to just ask for AMK on the German EFT tbh. Afaik, Germany is the only nation to have tested it on an aircraft, and its the only nation to have purchased it. If gaijin is going to decide to just screw germany again with the radar, then Germany should at least get AMK to compensate.

This would ACTUALLY make the German Typhoon “unique” and not just “uniquely worse”
And for those who think the 10deg difference “isnt a big deal”, as per CatWerfers video on fox 3 mechanics, it is much easier to successfully notch a missile by going a little beyond 90deg than being a little ahead of 90deg, which means the Italian and British EFT’s have a significant advantage in notching alongside their advantage in radar coverage.
NOOOOOOOO…
Yes, its an sentence
Added:
Eurofighter (AESA) - Should have 200 degree wide scan option + 180° scan for German EF (for now untill better source mention 200°) / Internal Report
Accepted
Eurofighter (AESA) - CAPTOR-E Electronic scan sector too small
Accepted
Eurofighter (AESA) - CAPTOR-E scan speed should be much faster
Accepted
[DEV] Eurofighter (AESA) models are missing their GPS Antenna
Accepted
I hope that someone reports this, so maybe it can be accepted as suggestion, would they implement it in the current dev tho, who knows.
What a shame that they’re to lazy to model it.
They could at least write it at any corner on the MHDD screen at least.
What I also don’t like is that the Map Page doesn’t show me the direction which the A/C goes, but only a dot. They could make it an triangle instead of that useless dot so we can orientate us like in real life, see posted here.
Regarding this bug report, @Gunjob posted this:
Which compares all 3 radars and critically does not state that the ECRS Mk.1 has a smaller FoR than the other 2 radars. FoR is shown for all 3 radars as being ±100deg, with ±90deg being the full power FoR. I might try to put in a third try bug report, but I doubt it’ll work. Gaijin just seems to be deadset on kicking German players while they’re down.
That map bit might need to be reported, but yes.
its why the Cockpit has no backlighting, it did on the dev server and they removed it because of the dynamic buttons
Why is there no option for pirate thermal view?
Likely not modelled yet
I was looking for it too
it seems to be still work in progress for all the AESA EFs since it has lower gimbal limits than the normal british and Italian EFs
If you look very closely you will see that they left it’s eye patch on so you can’t see through it.
