Since the Eurofighter has been added it has clearly been one of the top contenders of aircraft in the game. Due to balancing purposes it hasn’t reached it’s full potential which I completely understand as the game is not ready for weapons such as the Meteor, ASRAAM and IRIS-T. But could we ever see the use of the Eurofighter’s ESM-ECM pod or it’s Towed Decoy?

I’m hoping for ECM sometime in 2025, but we’ve had aircraft that would have benefitted greatly from towed decoys already for a while. Like the tornado F3. I’m not expecting to see them anytime soon

Hey, thank you for commenting on my post. I agree. As a British main I try to be unbiased, when the Eurofighter was first announced I wasn’t expecting it to be fully kitted out with all it’s bells and whistled as the need to balance it. But I’d really love to see the use of the towed decoy. I’m pretty sure other aircraft such as the F-16, F/A-18E use them as well.
The Rafale can also use them, some F-15s were also tested with X-Guard iirc. But yea, BOL needs the fix.

i mean an F-15 can just fry the enemy radar with its massive AESA but yeah thatd be nice

I couldn’t find much information about which specific variants of the Rafale has the towed decoy. But I know the newer variants and Indian Rafales are being fitted with the X-Guard fiber-optic towed decoy system.
The F-15 is just a monster. As a Brit, I am slightly jealous of the F-15 ahahaha.

If we ever get ECM properly modeled you are screwed anyway, tornado f3 would just Jam the Mig-29/Su-27 radar just by locking onto it 😀

Always saw the F-15 and similar aircraft as a brute force solution to dominance while the likes of the EF and other European designs take a more nuanced approach to making their craft.
In a sense, a F-15 is a sledgehammer to air superiority, the Eurofighter is a longsword.

F-15EX can also theoretically carry 7 JASSM cruise missiles too lol
it just runs on raw thrust and payload
Pretty much the best way to describe top of the line US craft since the F-4 Phantom.
Meanwhile the likes of the Lightning, EF, Tornado, etc, all have more nuanced tweaks to make them better in what they need to do, rather than succeeding through sheer brute force.

F-22 does both lol. F-16 and 14 are fairly nuanced too. hornets are payload focused but growlers are quite nuanced
