During a recent battle in the Fw 190 D-12, I was in an unusual fight at about 7km, and I noticed that my manifold pressure and engine RPM were going crazy. It seems like it can’t decide whether to use the 2nd or 3rd supercharger speed when you are above ~6.4km unless you fly very fast or go above ~7.6km, and it can’t be manually controlled, so it’s just rapidly switching back and forth causing a loss of power within the gear change altitude range.
I tested it in test flight and it’s very easy to replicate with the Fw 190 D-12 or D-13, but doesn’t seem to happen on the Ta 152 H-1. This seems like a bug.
