The M60 was the backbone of the United States Army and Marine Corps tank force for decades seeing use from 1960-2005 (Combat service ended in 1997). Over the years, many upgrades and modifications have been made for the M60, including the M60A3 TTS, which gives the M60 a laser range finder and thermals. Another upgrade to the tank was the addition of ERA. In-game you are forced to always have the ERA equipped (in the US tech tree) even though the M60A3 TTS was extensively used without ERA. My proposal is to make the ERA a modification so as to not force people to use the ERA if they don’t want to. In the Russian tech tree, this is done with the T64BV where the additional armor mod adds Kontact 1 ERA to the tank.

Similar to SepV2 TUSK . M60A3 TTS Reactive Armor (ERA) should be optional. Gaijin has M60A3 TTS without ERA in Chinese tech tree. Just copy them in and change skin.

Yep, there is no reason they shouldn’t be optional especially when add-on ERA is optional on other vehicles in other tech trees.

Agreed this should be a modification for the tank to remove the ERA, its a bit silly that it doesnt get the ability to remove it
with where i commonly use the M60A3 (mainly 9.3 with the XM803/MBT-70) its mostly upteirs to the point where the ERA doesn’t serve much purpose other than weighing down the vehicle
its a great tank its personally one of my fav tanks to play just its power pack is lack luster it should be able to remove the ERA
yeah, ive talked about this a lot with my friends that the ERA just dosen’t do enough to keep on, unlike the A1 RISE P where even if you get upteird most things still use HEAT but the coupla shots just negate it anyways
wish there was a way to get gaijin to see this lol it would be nice for it to be removeable
