Emergency arresting wires on runways?

WELL, we already have most people landing just hard enough to break their landing gear, in order to reload/(repair) more quickly. Imo, there should be a MUCH longer cooldown/repair time for those who break their landing gear. I see much less of an issue adding a airfield arresting wire that exists IRL. Even the US Air Force has them, not just land based US Navy air fields.

this would shorten landing times as you can land and take off faster when landing your at your most vunerable

I agree, not really needed. And given the way people will attempt to use them, they would realistically break the arresting hooks anyway.

most carrier planes wouldnt care

The airfield arresting wires are not for increased landing speed. They are for potential/loss of braking.

They shouldn’t be added just to enable people to be bad at landing.

Which is not why you want them added last I checked.

they should as it takes forever to land most planes because poor breaks

adding them increases time effieciency

Suck less.

Come in on speed and every fighter sized aircraft can be stopped before the end of the parking spaces.

Even the F-15s and F-16s with “bad brakes”

takes longer than coming in at a higher speed

Most aircraft can get within 1km of the airfield going mach and still pull S turns to bleed their speed just fine. Skill issue

still takes more time id rather be able to land at higher speed in my tomcat like its intended to than slow down

Clearly it’s not, if you can’t

it can its just theres no arresting cables on runways on carries you can land it 400mph while on a runway you land at that speed you spend ten minutes breaking

Which you shouldn’t be able to do

navy planes land at high speed

they have gear designed for it
they land at roughly 300 mph or higher incase you need to make a go around

TFW you have no idea what you’re talking about

yes but manual also says slowing down that much if pratical
