i, in my personal understanding, have several issues with the EldE and the way it is implemented.
-
the part in the back is not a trailer with a special connecting system, its tracks are powered and it steers with the whole vehicle articulating.
-
the back compartment feels way to light causing it to flip over extremly fast
-
the connection isnt modeled as active hydraulic cylinders, which leads to it beeing twistet extremly fast
4. with the current radar on many maps you are basicly blind since planes spawn higher than the view angle
-
the radar only scans in 1 beam, meaning that radar soft locks often do not match the position of an aircraft at all, making any lock impossible
-
for only having 4 missles the reload time is massiv, considering that you have to wait 1 minute to build an ammo box

The flipping issue seems to stem from gaijin’s wonky code pertaining to trailers or the like. The SLAMRAAM humvee trailer flat out breaks reality if you corner too hard and then yeets the vehicle across the map.
That and I swear this thing got multi-vehicle support in the trailer. Seems odd that it did not get such in game, although it does have a slightly lower BR due to that. Even with 4 missiles it should be quite capable, if a bit annoying due to the ammo limit. Would be nice for multi-vehicle support though.
i mean reak trailers do this, but the EldE and its base plattform are not a pulled trailer system, its an selfpowered part of the vehicle, connectet trough active hydraulic cyliners, it should not twist like a bayblade
with the recent .22 patch the radar was patched, it now looks way futher up making it possible to actually see close range enemys
Do you find the radar just stops working after a while? It happens on the test drive but I’ve not been able to pin down how to replicate it.
well the testdrive is a thing on its own, in battle i never had this experience, but the radar sometimes became unsynced so that i had a tws lock which was not fitting the planes posittion at all
Edit: with 2.46.0.25
the radar got buffed from 360°x22° to 360°x70° search mode
the radar now displays type of tracked vehicle: heli, multijet, jet, and single pro___ (_ means i can not read more on my screen)
the search speed was increased from what i feel.
tws locks are now more consistend.
mobility in fully upgraded feels better, trailer behaves better yet is still not correct since there is no articulated steering
i was still able to fire all my missles
I had that bug multiple times on the SLM, still not sure what causes it but a target with indefined position will appear in the target list, blocking all other targets from being detected
Restarting the radar to clear all targets fixes it in my experience
Hello people with the EldE 98, do you guys want to try and see if the IRIS-T reaches 38 degree of fin aoa?
Spoiler

Message me to try and test it.
Yes but you’re not allowed to use datamines as sources afaik, so we need to actually prove it in game.
I am aware, I am still giving you the value that you should expect to get.
So i made a report on the fin deflection, i don’t have much confidence it can get accepted tho, there’s way more that goes into reporting max fin deflection that i can’t do.
[DEV] IRIS-T max fin deflection angle
I’m hoping that they take the time to adjust the autopilot values as well if they do accept the increased deflection values as well as increase the maximum lateral acceleration. Both are needed if the missile is to use that improved value, such is a issue with the AIM-9L and M currently where they physically cant reach their max G overload due to their fin AOA, lateral acceleration and autopilot being too gentle to achieve such.
The SLM, IRIS-T and AIM-9X should all have some extremely aggressive performance off the rail in the same vein as how the MICA now aggressively tracks targets on dev.
