EldE 98: Missile Trolley

The Pantsir S1 doesn’t reach near 20 km with it’s missiles… I’ve played it a lot lately, and it’s VERY good, don’t get me wrong, but 20km is fantasy numbers.
I get semi-reliable hits at like 13-14km and VERY good hit rate at 12km or lower. Anything above 15km and a slight turn from the enemy makes the missile do snail maneuvers and overshoot drastically.

Though this is of topic, send me a PM if you want to talk about the Pantsir S1.

No, you didn’t. Pantsir is bad against top CAS, and this is at best marginally better than Pantsir and at worst on-par.

Problem is iris-t slm jumps straight to 40km range

Its the radar graph, not missle

I don’t see an issue with that.

hopefully, it can at least track the a2g missile/bomb properly.

I agree. Although I’m not familiar with the potential differences between the land based IRIS-T and the air-launched one.

Same range some russian AGMs have. So it would be right.

Personaly me neither.
But i dont see gajin being so nice

this is a 12KM death zone compared to the easily avoidable pantsir missile, this thing will definitely have its place in GRB

Depends HIGHLY on lock range though, Pantsir can fire regardless of lock and do SACLOS guidance, IRIS-T requires lock before launch, unless they add LOAL which honestly would be the best time for a test of that functionality, but i wouldn’t keep my hopes op for that.

I’m sure the radar lf the EldE 98 can be turned off.

Yeah but people probably want to use the radar because it’s absolutely stupid to sit at top tier and be expected to detect a pixel in a 360 radius that is supposed to be a plane at 15km away.

Systems like the Type 81 and now IRIS-T SLS are absolutely braindead to use

Yeah because other SPAA is somehow difficult to use, they’re all braindead, boring and unrewarding.

System performance is apparently not just measured by what people that really know what they’re doing can achieve with it

Which is the problem in this game because snail is incapable of interpreting data properly, which is baffling after 10 years but clearly they just do not care, which is why minor nations constantly get screwed over because the 10 people playing the Type 81 are going to do better than the 1000 people playing the Pantsir, but they treat it 1:1.

In what world is the Type 81 equal to the Pantsir? In what world should an SPAA that is incapable of locking onto targets 5km away, unable to lock onto drones, unable to defend itself and one that doesn’t even have a radar, be a top tier SPAA?

Zero physical differences, it’s just a software update for the guidance logic. :P
You can literally take an IRIS-T of a Gripen, hook it to a computer and update it, put it on the Eldenhet 98 and fire it with no issues.

Well that slightly better is based on the inherent differences between F&F and SACLOS in terms of battlefield presence.

Your post’s LOAL idea would make it more powerful than Pantsir further than what I expect.

This discussion is stirring away from the topic at hand… Please keep in mind that this topic IS about the EldE 98.

Ru Mains often talking down Pantsir.

Lovely, then it should definitely be a challenge for close range CAS.

i have to say that top tier SPAA is not boring if you try to not only kill aircraft, but also try to intercept munition launched to protect your allys, like the SPAA role IRL

“Is the missile ready to fire at this incoming cruise missile??”

“Give me a second! The update is stuck at 99%”

It just seems like it will be DoA without a better missile.
