noam read what i said about the Spyder SR and what it needs for the derby to be used there and you will have the answer dont be stubborn. to be honest with you if the Spyder SR had been considered from the beginning I am %100 sure they would have added it much earlier, now its late thats why we are not gonna see it and we´ll see something better and on pair with other advance SPAAs and 5 gen IRs

This is the firing position. Notice how a 90° off bore capability gives the ability to aim and fire at anything not below the missile

It is true that EldE lacks any form of E/O.
Does that mean slave to radar will be implememented? Who knows.
I would not be surprised if gaijin gave it a “fake turret” that would carry the missile seeker with it, forcing us to play a 3rd person lock game.

I mean, it is entierly possible to enable the missile seeker and acces it. ASRAAM was used like that.
However i dont know if EldE has such capability,

WDYM, what you wrote is just factually wrong. There are multiple missiles that can be fired without any radar or E/O. That is literally how the missiles worked for a good amout of time. And even now as i gave my example, in some cases seeker can be accesed to manually aim it while on the rail, no other system needed.
Or were things like AIM-9B radar slaved?

it has earlier allready been discussed that LOAL can also mean the missle gets feeded target information before launch, gets launched orientates based on the feeded data and then locks on the seeker, technicaly that is LOAL even if the controller is not able to switch target after launch

I really hope Israel gets either the SPYDER AIO or the SPYDER-SR. Both can be limited to early variants, so they would match the Pantsirs range with their 15-20km range Python 4s.
For Britain the best hope seems to be the Cactus sam with SAHV missiles. The ZA-HVM and G6-HVM could be options, but Gaijin seems to be way too picky when it comes to unfinished vehicles.
I don’t even know what they could give to nations like Japan and Italy. Most nations seem to have gone from Manpads range straight to 40km+ range air defenses and often just in form of semi-mobile units that wouldn’t work for WT.
I feel like adding stuff with up to 40km range and artificially nerfing their range would be warranted at this point, considering how dominant top tier CAS is, but Gaijin seems to think otherwise.

Python 4 doesnt have 20km range from the ground( maybe with booster)
Guess 15km would be fine as well, unless Python 5s are somehow limited to 20km range when surface launched

Look at the irist its 25km from a plane but 12 from the ground
