EldE 98: Missile Trolley

It is so much worse.

It only broke spectacularly on Berlin, now it is breaking on just about every map I test it on. I would bug report it, but they’ll probably just tell me I shouldn’t be playing from Australia and that they don’t give a damn.

Lol, that’s actually a little bit funny, for me it handles so much better and the back doesn’t bounce around uncontrollably every other turn. It fells “smoother” if that makes sense.

Sad that it’s still bad for those with high ping :(

Out of curiosity, can you show me what the vehicle outline in the bottom left shows when you’re using it? I’ve yet to confirm it’s a connection issue (I am 99%) or a Linux client issue having dodgy interpretation of the colliders.

Also the missile still fails to connect with an aircraft closer than 6km. It really needs to be removed and replaced with the RBS 23. It cannot engage closing in targets, cannot destroy air to ground munitions, and cannot reliably target aircraft because of how you have to manipulate the radar and by the time you’ve done that, the aircraft is within the no engagement range or has already dropped weapons you can’t destroy. Nor can it engage targets at any longer ranges.

Example:

This is when it showed up on radar. Far too close for the missiles to engage, and this is the earliest it showed on radar. It really is substandard. Not to mention the highest pull the missile achieves fired against any target so far is 17g.

Radar should be fixed soon tm. I think SLM got the report about targeting munitions made, but SLS would need a separate one.

Yay, the radar will be able to show me the planes I can’t engage because of a 17g overload. Joy.

Report on the issue of using it from Australia, don’t really think they’ll care.

Incredibly lazy report on intercepting munitions.

Feel free to do it better, but it is 0600 and I want to take a nap.

I’m having none of the issues you describe. I took a short clip from a testdrive i just did to show of both the missies and trying to make the trailer bug out. (VOLUME WARNING!) https://youtu.be/PtJDIbQH0VA

Edit: What version of the DEV are you on?

Up to date with dev.

Great, so it is a network issue and it’s really further evidence that we need servers in our region, lovely. Or at least more care put into the fact that they sell the product in regions they do not provide servers for. At least that is what I am seeing from the recording.

RIP SLS

Max Speed makes a bit of sense though, Mach 3 max is when it’s air launched, i highly doubt it can reach Mach 3 when it’s ground launched.
The max G i don’t actually know enough to say anything about :P

Tell me, how do you want to launch an Ground Launched missile in air

Edit: nvm, mixed the thread

It’s the exact same missile, it’s just a software update to the guidance logic. You can literally take the missile from a JAS39C, plug a laptop into it and update it and then put it in the EldE 98 and fire it without any issues :)

Haha, easily done ^^

Speaking about the SLS the Mach 2 matches now also the Swedish source

I just noticed on the latest DEV update, the IIR seeker is now always on so no need for the warmup, you can now fire them with shorter time in- between :)

A funny side effect of this is that you can now turn off your radar, start driving to make the launcher tilt down, then aim by steering and adjusting speed to make the launcher tilt up/down. once you get a lock you stop quickly you can then fire the missile once the launcher is fully up again without ever having the radar on lol.

be honest, the raise of the radar scope is more effective than the radar off method

well, yes, still funny though. :P

SLS seems to have 2500km/h top speed, which is roughly Mach2 (sea level). However, the air launched variant is supposed to go around Mach 3. I don’t really understand the difference, its the same missile, isn’t it? Do they calculate it from a jet going 1000km/h? But sources dont mention this.

SLM has roughly 3700 km/h, which would be Mach 3.1 at sea level.

The still in development SLX will most likely have up to 4900 km/h top, around Mach 4. There is ofc no source yet, but these are logical assumptions from miltec communities. The missile is supposed to hit targets up to 80km away.

That missle will be bigger in size, what i saw
